I LOVE a fireplace so much! A fireplace not only adds value it also adds character and charm. So instead of buying a piece of furniture for the wall in our dining room we opted to add a fireplace. I did style it, because I just can’t help it. We still need to have the finish work done and the room painted, so keep that in mind as you look at the photos.
We did a gas fireplace (this Bayport series). You can easily add an electric fireplace to your current home like we did in our Connecticut home. You can see that electric fireplace with brick and Limewash here.
I thrifted everything on the fireplace! Has a subtle fall vibe.
We used this terracotta tile with Biscuit grout. I wanted the grout to look more like mortar and make the dark tile pop. I think it totally worked. We decided to lay the tiles in a brick lay as well. I love the look of herringbone, but I didn’t want to overdo it since we have tile in a herringbone pattern in three bathrooms.
In our bathroom you can see what the same tile looks like in a herringbone pattern with charcoal grout.
And all the stages this room as seen so far!! The wall is separating the dining room (which is actually our only dining table) and our home office. Can’t wait to take you along as we style this room and it get’s finished!

Brooke! That looks so great. I’m taking a break from insta, but I needed to come check in and see how the home Reno stuff is going. Enjoy your sweet family this weekend. Xo, Lily
