One of my favorite things about our kitchen is the window right above the sink. We have hedges separating the neighbors house rather than a fence. You can see the tips of the hedges from the window and it reminds me of a window box. I thought, oh why not add a window box to our kitchen window?! Rather than flowers we created a herb window box. And it brings me so much joy! I can simply reach my hand outside the window and grab some cilantro! I thought I would share our new kitchen herb window box for Friday Favorites and a couple of weekend sales!
As I was putting together our herb window box I realized I didn’t have the cute garden labels. Immediately I thought I better run to target and find them! Then paused. I have to often fight that desire to “run out and grab something” because #1 it really isn’t important #2 that is not being very productive. If I happen to be at Target I can get them. OR better yet USE WHAT I HAVE! So I got creative and grabbed some popsicle sticks, spray painted them black and had Ella make some labels with my favorite label maker. It is perfect.

I talked about Window Boxes on THIS blog post. But. I wanted to show a simple solution to an inexpensive window box. I picked up THIS window box at Home Depot for $10 and spray painted it white. We attached it to our siding with just long screws. Then we put a piece of wood in the space between the siding and the window box so the window box wouldn’t lean so far forward from the weight of the dirt. You could also add corbels or brackets to support it. It was an easy little project is for sure a favorite thing!
Organizing Challenge-
Fun week of organizing kitchens! I love when you tag me in your stories on Instagram or share a photo of your organizing tips. I talked about a podcast I listened to about organizing (HERE Episode #217) and a question to ask yourself when you are decluttering-
“Is this worth the space it is taking in my home?” (and you can ask that in reverse before you buy something)
“Would I buy this today for full price?”
“Would it impact my daily life if I didn’t have it?”
If you haven’t yet you can print your free organizing printable HERE This coming week is OFFICES!
Two of your favorite photos I shared from readers-
Using a drawer for spices is a great idea if you have the space! A reader @speak_brave used THESE jars that come with the labels and you can pick your lid!
And @susan_immanuel folded her kitchen towels in a drawer how I shared mine on instagram and she labeled them!
Cookies-
As I shared before we are going to Utah and sadly leaving Kevin home (dang work!). Hopefully he can come visit us for a weekend. To make up for us leaving we made a double batch of his favorite cookies- White Chocolate Cranberry Cookie (Recipe HERE). We froze them, so hopefully they will last. We will for sure miss him, but look forward to time with family.
