Friday Favorites starts with Why and Before and Afters

Friday Favorites with some amazing Before and Afters from some of YOU! The kitchen makeovers, painted cement steps and more just had to be shared!  I love seeing what you are up to and possibly what I inspired you to do or try. It makes me so energized! Don’t you get like that? We rode our bikes to the beach the other night and I saw someone working on their slats under their deck and I was like, YES! We can totally do ours. Yesterday I shared our Small Space Living Organizing Hacks. I get so many great questions from you that always inspire my next blog post or what to share with you. A lot of questions about organizing papers, toys and all the stuff. And the WHY? Why do you live where you do? 

Last night we decided to go on a bike ride (as we often do) and headed to the beach. It is maybe a 5 minute ride, on our beach cruisers. We played at the playground for a little bit then walked along the water. Kevin spotted little sea turtle! We have never seen one before in the Long Island Sound and didn’t know they were around. The kids freaked out and so did I. It was such a neat experience. Right then I knew that this was the “why”. Why we live where we do, location. What is your why?

Friday Favorites- Fashion Finds

Kevin snapped this picture before we headed to the beach. So many of my favorite things- 

White Ruffle Sleeve Shirt (It fits true to size, I have on a small)
 
Asymmetrical Sandal – I got these sandals last year and they are still a favorite! I get stopped constantly, women asking where I got them. They are little pricey, but a statement shoe.
 
Striped Beach Bag– This was a gift from Kevin for Mothers Day! Such a great beach bag that I used for so many things. 
 
Flat Iron– I got asked a lot if I did something new to my hair. I thought, well besides actually washing it and doing it…I got a new flat iron! Makes such a difference when straightening your hair. (On sale with GOSAVE6). I am planning on doing a little “beauty” post and a video showing how I flat iron, curl my hair and favorite makeup items. 
 
Finn’s Bike Seat- A lot of questions from my Instagram Stories about Finn’s Bike Seat. He loves it! And it is so easy to ride with him this way.
 
Bikes– And my bike was bought from our neighbor up the road who refurbishes bikes. I bought Kevins HERE.

Before and After- Backyard Space Makeover Friday Favorites- Trip to the Beach
 
Had to share the pictures of the turtle! Isn’t it the cutest thing! And I have to admit I have been a little sick about it because many said (from my Instagram Stories) that we should have put it towards the ocean, it was walking away from it. Some said best to leave it alone and Kevin said that too. I might go back today and see if we can see it again.

Wish I could share all of them- but just join are group and you can see them every Tuesday! I think I might start a new series or continue to share some in my Friday Favorites! 

Crystal Pickering‎ did my Magic Light Trick on either side of her TV above her fireplace. She asked the group about what sconces to do and she ended up going with her gut because she wanted them to blend in with the fireplace and be a soft accent. Great decision! 
Before and After- Painted Cement Steps
Jennifer Leeper painted her cement steps just like we did (HERE)! It makes the space feel so much bigger. Jennifer used navy on the strips.

Sarah Plewniak painted her cement steps too! It really draws your eye to the front door and brightens it up! Cute house Sarah!

Mustard Seed Beginnings– painted her cement steps then stenciled them! I LOVE the transformation!

Cortney Chambers– made a HUGE transformation by painting her cabinets, taking the doors off, new hardware, new sink and I believe she painted the backsplash! Simple changes go a long way. I love this kitchen Before and After!

Heather Grimm- Can you even handle this kitchen Before and After? This speaks to me so much. I love that all of the kitchens I am sharing today have painted cabinets. Heathers cabinets are a gorgeous green color but they feel light with the subway tile and dark grout (my favorite way to do subway tile!). Heather you knocked it out of the park! ** Cabinets are Cordite by Behr. Floors are from HomeDepot. Lights are older World Market.

Lauren Fuquay-This kitchen Before and After caught my eye with the subway tile going all the way around the fridge. Such a statement! And love the painted cabinets too!

Amy Baker shared this great bathroom Before and After! I love how Amy took off the doors to her bathroom closet, we did that same thing and it made such a difference! 
 
 
 
Before and After- Backyard Space Makeover
Sarah Wagner – created an amazing extension of their home by adding a deck! What a great Before and After, something that will bring enjoyment to the entire family!

    All of these are just amazing, the only one I would have done a bit different was the last small bath, I would never have gotten rid of that vintage tile…but that’s just me! Love 1940’s feel in bathrooms and kitchens.
