It is crazy to me that we have almost lived in this house for one year, time needs to slow down! When we moved in I was most excited to get my hands on my girls bedroom. They didn’t share a room in our Utah home. We had to maximize every inch of this Cape Cod home. And can I just tell you how glad I am that we have them sharing a room? They sing each other to sleep and play for hours together in this space, such a blessing.
I created a play area opposite their beds. They love dolls and all the little toys. I had these Ikea bins that I made a simple linen curtain for to hide all the mess. It is on velcro so they can pull it off when they want to get to everything. The oval pictures of the ladies were passed down from my mom, they once belonged to another family member. I love using vintage items that mean something in all my rooms.
I had the signs made for above their toy bins that say my girls middle names Grace and Faith. They were made by The Painted Nest. The baskets are my favorite, they hold their stuffed animals and dolls. They were made by Prairie St Mercantile they are all hand made and just the most charming and unique baskets you will find, use code INSTALOVE to save 20% off your basket order!
I wanted to take advantage of this ceiling, these little Capes have a lot of charm. I added wallpaper from Tempaper Designs it is temporary wallpaper. I wanted something that I could put up easily myself and I fell in love with this flock of birds. It was SO easy to apply and very forgiving if you made a mistake or the pattern wasn’t matching up I could pull off and adjust it.
This chandelier really pulled the room together. Amazing how good lighting can do that. I am slightly obsessed with antlers. I love how unexpected and eclectic they are. This one is from The Shabby Antler and she is offering 10% off by using SHABBY10 you can use it on any of her unique product.
My daughter set up this little desk herself. I had an extra side table and she pulled a chair up to it and set up colored pencils and books in the drawer. She does a lot of work here! One day she was having a bad day and I added a little bowl with m&m’s to it, I think she told me thank you a million times that day. I love that she appreciates the small things and I believe that is what life is made for, making someones day.
So many of the items I use are second hand. This coat hanger and globe were both found second hand shopping. I think previously loved pieces add a lot of charm. The coat hanger needed a coat of white spray paint and it was set.
I added a little leftover wallpaper behind this shadow box. I like how it ties in the wallpaper on the other side of the room and adds a little pop of pattern.
I am in love with two twin beds side by side, I was so happy when I could use it in my own home. I switched up some of their bedding for the winter. They needed more layers. I have more bedding tips and ideas HERE. You can find the plaid duvets HERE.
I wanted to pull in a touch of black with the squirrel pillow and check duvet. I found these “Wild and Free” and “Adventure” cotton canvas prints from Vol25 they add a lot of depth. LOVE all of her artwork.
These gorgeous frames are from Delta Frames and I just about fell over when we got them. They are so well made and they also do custom. I love the touch of gold.
Of coarse my other daughter needed a little desk because her sister had one. Luckily we aren’t low on little accent tables. She keeps her “treasures” stored there, who am I kidding she has two other drawers in the bookcase filled with cards, papers and anything else she thinks she can’t part with. I have to go through and de-junk it once in awhile without her watching me.
I made this string art from a broken mirror frame. I have a DIY blog post on it HERE. It was so easy and actually really fun to do with my daughter. The “you are so loved” banner is from one of my favorite little shops Plain Jane Home. The crown burlap pillow and the fun deer head are from them too.
These doll dresses used to go on glass dolls that I had when I was younger and that my Mom let us play with. My Mom brought them to me recently with the dolls and so many memories came flooding back. I cherished these dolls and the fact that we could play with them and enjoy them. I think that helped me to value nice things. I found the shadow box frame at Ikea. I added fabric to the back and pinned the doll clothes and shoes to the back.
Another charming nook that I added the temporary wallpaper too. It highlights the architecture found in small old homes. You know the book “the secret” well I swear that works in my life all the time. If I think of something I really want and put it out in the universe…then if I seek it out it falls into my lap. Try it! I had just had my second daughter and needed another dresser. I didn’t want a brand new one, I wanted one with some character. I went out one day to some of my favorite consignment shops in Utah and found this one for less than $100. It might take some extra time to find exactly what you want and for the price you want to pay but it is worth the wait.
I can’t wait to deck this guy out for Christmas! I will be adding a lot of Christmas touches to their bedroom pretty soon. Make sure to sign up to get my blog posts sent to your email box so you don’t miss a thing! Sign up HERE on my home page.
The paint color is the same that I used throughout our home- Cloud Cover from Benjamin Moore.
your girls room is so beautiful. I love that it is not childish, but is so comfortable and clearly a stylish children’s space. I absolutely love the chair in the room. do you mind to share your source?
Thank you for the inspiration. we are updating our kitchen and I have gained so much inspiration from your kitchen redo!

I love this room! did you get the white or the off-white chandelier?
oh I just love their room!! My sister and I shared a room to growing up!
thank you! I hope that means you liked sharing a room:) it has been really a lot of fun for them to.
Everything looks just lovely… so cozy and sweet for your little girls :o) My daughter is 25 now but I still loved looking at this room!
Tania
that is so sweet. I bet you are enjoying your daughter at this age too, best friends.
Love this room! Where did you get the blankets on the girls bed and the adorable curtains?! Thanks!
thank you! The white blanket is from Target. The throws are from Layers in Gardner Village. Curtains are from West Elm!
I love this room for my twins! They will be 3 in June! Just wondering where you got the beds? Thanks
Shannon
thank you! and how fun, twins!! They are from Hooker Furniture, I believe they are discontinued!
Also what color did you paint the walls! Thanks
It is Cloud Cover from Benjamin Moore!
Thanks! I have one more question! How about the blankets on the beds? Do you remember where you got those?
Hello- the white blankets I bought at Target. The pink and yellow throws came from a Utah store, Layers Bedding.
Such a lovely room! Could you please share how you stored their clothes? My 2 girls share a room but I I have 2 dressers in there and I hate the look of it. Do you let one have the closet and one have the drawer?
Both of them have storage under their beds that I ordered to match the beds. I put dividers in the that hold a lot of clothes. The closet it actually a good size too! We have one dresser that the oldest uses.
Thank you so much for responding! 🙂
The room is beautiful! I am curious about clothing storage and how you manage to fit 2 kids worth of clothing/shoes etc.. into that room.
Good question! Both of their beds have under the bed storage. We also have a dresser and a decent size closet with two layers of rods. We have more than enough space with the under the bed storage that matches the bed.
What a cozy space for two little girls! I’m looking for a big bookcase right now, and the one pictured here looks great. Where did you find it?
It is from Bramble Company! One of my favorite pieces.
This space is so beautiful and definitely one they an grow into! Just curious, how many rolls of the wallpaper did you need for their space? I just love the idea and it’s much easier than stenciling!
-Michelle
I used 2 and a little of 3!
Hi, I was wondering where the cute squirrel pillows came from?
Hello- I bought it at Ikea, it was a limited edition pillow, not sold online…might still be in the stores.
hi there – love this room and wondering if you might share where the lights are from! love how dreamy they are! thanks
I really like the Tempaper Designs wallpaper but one thing I need to know further that if going change it in future, will it make damage my wall?
I used it another time and actually took it down at one point and it didn’t leave any damage for us.
May I ask how many rolls you used in this room?
It was little over two rolls:)
I absolutely love this room. I’m curious what size the canvas prints are? Trying to fill a space in my girls’ bedroom and this is perfect! Thank you for the inspiration!
Thank you! The ones above the bed? They are 11×14:)
I find this through pinterest! I am curious though… the pin has a throw pillow on the bed closest to the window. It looks like a lion or some other animal… do you mind sharing where it is from?
Thanks! It is from society6.com/missmariloustudio
Is the chandelier the off white or bright white? Thanks!
It is bright white!
Thank you so much!!
May I ask where the darling beds are from?
