Home Office Makeover- Round Table as Desk

We are back at my best friend, Laila’s house! She recently moved into a new house with her family, about 6 months ago. The home was built in 1990, it was ready for a fresh coat of paint and to have the carpet replaced. Her husband installed new LVP floors, which helped transform the bedroom into a blank slate for an office. While Laila and I were on one of our vintage shopping trips, I spotted a round dining table and suggested it for an office table instead of the small desk she had. She was onboard! She also let me jump in and help her makeover her office and share it with you!

Laila’s Home Office Before-

The walls got painted in one of my favorite white paints, Cloud White from Benjamin Moore. Her floors are LVP, Stockbridge Oak Ridge Core. All ready for decor and furniture!

Now it is Granny Chic! I am a big fan of decorating with things you love. You can make anything work with the right design application.

Floral Rug-

For Laila’s office I started the design plan with the floral rug. She found it locally and sent me a photo, it totally reminded me of her. So it was a yes! After we had the rug as our inspiration, I put together the plan. We had the round dining table too, so I had to find the right office chairs.

Office Chair-

Immediately LOVED these vintage inspired dining chairs to use as office chairs. I found them at walmart.com, for a great price and they come in a bunch of colors. They are very comfortable chairs too!

Light Fixture-

I had ordered a light and it ended up being smaller than we wanted over her table. So we went vintage shopping in hopes of finding the perfect light, and we scored! Found a floral Tiffany chandelier that had the same colors and design of the rug. The Granny Chic style we were going for, without trying! Ha! I do wish it was hung a little lower, this was as low as it could go, (I prefer 32″ over the table, this is closer to 38″) but it works in the room with the really tall ceilings!

Purple Sideboard-

She already had the sideboard in her kitchen, and wanted to move it into her office. While it was pretty as-is, she had lived with it for 3 years not painted, and always wanted to paint it. Both of us voted on purple (Chaise Mauve from Sherwin Williams). It turned out so fun!!! And we like how the pattern design carved on the doors and drawers really pops now.

Office Decor-

You can really find a lot of great decor pieces on walmart.com, I found these vintage inspired lamps. The blue on the base is so pretty and really quality lamp shades.
Had to give her a matching Pencil Holder that we have in our home office, adds the right amount of color and is practical too.
And every office needs a calendar. We did this dry erase calendar that has 3 months at a glance (she has 30×24 with modern gold frame, these are the best dry erase thin markers).
She has the white base aria diffuser, not available anymore. But it is the same size as the wood base aria, you could paint if you wanted to!
She has had that shelf for her oils for awhile. I found this shelf that is similar on walmart.com.

Curtain Panels-

Curtain Panels are velvet, come in a bunch of colors and lengths. Really impressed with them! I did two panels on each side. Also, isn’t that bench so cute here? She found it at a local store a couple years ago (this is a similar bench). Fills in the extra space and is a fun spot to look out the window!
LOVE this Matisse Floral Abstract!!! Such a good find from walmart.com too! We hung a photo of her parents and a clock to balance out the bookcase wall.
IKEA bookcases that came from her previous kitchen. We had fun filling them with goodies!
Most everything in the bookcases were thrifted, expect for these Natural Cane Baskets.
Always enjoy helping Laila with her home, it is a collaboration for sure! Let’s hope she can get some work done now šŸ˜‰šŸ¤
