Did you see the kitchen post we did? Where we gave a friend (who is going through a divorce) some furniture and decor. I can only imagine how she feels with so many changes in her life, plus she is a school teacher trying to navigate all the changes. She is an amazing mom and trying to keep things as “normal” as she can for her sweet girls. And that means leaving most everything at their previous home with the kids Dad. Two of the three girls have beds and the littlest (who is Finn’s friend) didn’t have anything yet. I knew that our old girl’s bed would be perfect for her with a few new additions. So I asked her if we could makeover her bedroom! Because having a cozy home really can be one of the best things for positive outlook!
Thank you Walmart for sponsoring this post
Bedroom Before and After-

We started with a blank state. The room was already painted a pretty blue color that I knew we could work with. And we were giving her the girls old poster bed, nightstand, mattress and our tall dresser that was in our master bedroom to give them. I bought her a new little kids table from Walmart and a rug for the room!
Kids Table and Chairs

This little kids table is just the cutest thing ever! Don’t you want the adult version of it?? I do! The table is metal and so are the chairs (find more here). Loved the touch of navy from the rug and the art. I know my girls loved their little table and wanted her to have one too!

Dresser

This dresser was in our master bedroom before our remodel. It fits perfect in her bedroom. We ended up painting it in Rustoleum chalked blush pink paint, the exact same paint we used on our piano.

The artwork above the dresser was something my girls wrote in watercolor and put in a simple frame.

Bedding

This stripe coverlet won me over from Walmart. It was such a good price and I loved the ruffle detail. It is also reversible, just plain white on one side. I had the flamingo pillow that was a fun pop of whimsy. And added the king ruffle sham to bring in the blue from the rug.

Shelves for Books and Nighstand

Every kid needs a spot for books! These shelves are a super affordable way to display them and they look like artwork. (I did spray paint them in Rustoleum chalked linen spray paint). If you are looking for kids bedroom furniture I highly recommend shopping Walmart.com first! Great pricing and style.

I mentioned the nightstand was my girls, vintage find. I painted it in the same blush chalk paint and white on the legs. Aren’t these baskets so sweet? I put one on top of the dresser for a snake plant and then one under the nightstand for more storage. (Find more baskets HERE).

With the nightstand being so small I found this small and affordable lamp at Walmart.com. Also every room needs a diffuser, this is one of my favorites for small space (find the only oils I use here).

This is a bedroom that can grow with her! From 4 years old to 18 (maybe will need a bigger table:) but everything else will work for her! My friend was very sweet and grateful for this makeover, she told me that she wakes up so happy that this is her home.
