I have received requests to do more round-ups of what I like from stores or what I bought! A blog reader said that she works full-time and doesn’t have a lot of time to shop online, I get it! And some of us just want to see what others buy! It is kind-of like seeing into others homes at night (you know you look if windows are open wide!) I bought a couple of new clothing items from Walmart this past week. A few items to update our entry! We recently had a big pipe added right in the middle of our closet, because we added central air (which is exciting and will be so nice in the summer) but the pipe was unexpected. If you have a small house or limited closet space, you get it. I will share the solution we came up with for our entry closet.
Thank you Walmart for sponsoring this post
The outcome of the closet ended up working out!!! They put a soft pipe in so they could bend it around to the opposite side of the door opening. I don’t have a tutorial on this, because we didn’t do it, and I actually never would have thought of doing this, I didn’t realize the pipe could bend that far! So I quickly snapped a picture while they were working. Hopefully if you have the issue of the big pipe taking over your closet, this will give you a solution.
After they fixed up the closet we painted (Kevin painted it) in Gray from Benjamin Moore. The reason I chose that dark color was so the bar would blend in. The closet isn’t uniform so I felt like having it light, you wouldn’t notice the flaws. I had some older gray baskets I put on the little shelf they made, it really blends in, and that is where the girls in-season shoes are.
Then we added THIS rug from Walmart. I picked this rug because it played well off the rug in our living room. And it is a hooked style rug, in my experience with this type of rug is that they last a lot longer and you can clean them with a carpet cleaner. The rug we had before was also Walmart, it was a jute rug, which are a lot harder to clean, but not too expensive so I didn’t feel bad changing it up.
We lost some of the storage we had in our closet for gloves, hats and scarves. So we cleared out all the coloring books and crayons etc. that were in our entry piece to make room for the gloves, hats and scarves. It worked out well and makes sense to have all of that right by the front door. I am going to put all of the coloring stuff in our kitchen, once the remodel is compete (for now it it all upstairs).
Two other things I bought at Walmart (online) were two different lamps for our entry. I didn’t think I would like THIS pink base lamp in this spot, but I loved the scale and the different shades of pink with the drapes. I have been wanting to use THIS velvet shade lamp from the Drew Barrymore Collection with Walmart, so I will just have to find a new spot for it (maybe in a makeover we do).
It ended up working out in the end. I feel like there is always a solution to every challenge in our homes. We can all love the home we have, with a little creativity. As I was shopping for home decor items to finish up the entry I did spot some clothing pieces that won me over! I ended up browsing “what’s trending” here on walmart.com. It is the fastest way to see new items and shop for their premium brand clothes. PS- Walmart.com is the easiest to send things back to if something doesn’t work! You don’t pay shipping. Just print a label from home and send it off! Check out some of my favorites I recently got to get me thru this awkward in-between season of winter and spring!

How do u like that cabinet from urban outfitter with drawers? I’ve looked at it and thought about it for about a year now buuuut.. I have a curious one year old and I’m not sure if those kind of drawers would be practical to have with sticky fingers reaching between the cracks lol it looks really nice in your entry!
I thought it would be and problem too! But it hasn’t been at all. The drawers really can’t fall out either. We haven’t had any issues with it!
Oh how I’ve missed blog posts about your house. There’s always so much I take from it and I’m absolutely in love with the new curtains and lamp. And your closet turned out super cute too. Thanks for this post. ❤

Agreed! I love seeing your home posts! 🙂 I was really homesick last year when I was in South Africa during the holidays and your posts kept me feeling warm and cozy! Can’t wait to see your new addition!
