Front Entry Makeover With Framed Mural

We offered to makeover our neighbors, and good friend’s entry, it feels like an extension of their dining room we recently made over, and I loved the challenge pulling it all together. April and Matt have lived in their home for about 9 years, it was built in 1986. They added wood floor to the main living areas. The entry is really tall and you can see directly into their dining room, which we recently made over! Our goal was to have the entry be an extension into the dining room, making everything flow.

Entry Before-

They liked having an entry table and mirror, I just knew we could maximize this space…making it look bigger by using bigger furniture! Also tie in the dining room that is right off the entry.

Entry After-

And now! The mural really pulls your eye up, making the space feel large. But adding color and a larger rug added a cozy feel that welcomes you in!

Painted Doors-

We painted all the doors in the entry the same color that is in her dining room, Hidden Falls from Benjamin Moore in a Satin sheen.
We also updated the hardware to this Matte Black smart key lock set.

Mural-

I knew I didn’t want to paint or wallpaper because the entry walls flow into all the other rooms around it. I decided to wallpaper and frame it in. A giant art piece!
I found this mural and was excited to use it as art in this space. I have the mirror that has the same pattern. The mural was really easy to hang, each piece was numbered. After it was up and dry. We hung trim pieces (that were painted the same door color) to frame it in.

Entry Table-

I found this detailed natural wood console table (Similar Table). It’s really heavy duty and large. Not super wide to take up a lot of space, just long to fill the wall.
Whenever I style tables I like to do larger accessories rather than lots of little things that start to feel messy. Large bowl great for holding mail, keys, etc.
Books // Hands
I love how the entry table takes up majority of the wall!

Rug-

This rug is 4×6 and a vintage find! I bought it a couple months ago for our cabin, but knew it would be perfect in their entry. You can find more one of a kind vintage rugs that will last forever HERE, my favorite place to source vintage rugs.

Lamps-

I think a lamp is a must in an entry!  It’s one of the easiest ways to add warmth and a welcoming ambience.
The table was large enough to do two of these lamps.

Mirror-

A mirror is always great in an entry. As long as it isn’t directly across from the front door, but rather on a wall perpendicular to it. It’s I really like the shape and color of this mirror. It’s extra tall and the arch is nice to soften the space over the square mural.

Ottomans-

I put two of these blue sherpa ottomans under the console table. I like the look but I really like the functionality of them.
The ottomans can be used as extra seating that can be pulled into the dining room with a top that can come off to store items inside. Blankets, toys, even gloves and hats if needed!

Hopefully you can see how large furniture and color won’t make a space feel small. Just the opposite! Now her entry looks large and cozy. They love it!
