We recently visited London, Stonehenge, Bath, and Windsor. After we checked out of the place we were staying in London, and drove about 2 hours to the Cotswolds to see all we could see in about two days. We loved the Cotswolds!! I would go back, even our kids appreciated it, but it would be a fun girls trip too. Sharing all that we did in a short period of time in the Cotswolds.

Everything we did in the Cotswolds-
- Burford- Considered the “Gateway to the Cotswolds” we stopped here first, more of a “working” village there are many shops, pubs and beautiful architecture to see. We parked at the top of the street and walked down to the bridge and back, was a great start to seeing the Cotswolds!
- The Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens- We didn’t go here, but it was suggested by several people, we were just low on time. Located near Burford in Oxfordshire, features a wide variety of animals and beautiful gardens, making it a popular destination for families and animal lovers.
- Birbury- What an amazing place!! This is a must see when visiting the Cotswolds, Arlington Row is exactly what I was picturing when the Cotswolds came to my mind! As one of the most photographed places in The Cotswolds I couldn’t get enough! We walked around and, took pictures. We spent about an hour there.
- Bourton-on-the-Water– Another beautiful spot in The Cotswolds about 15 to 20 min away from Birbury. Considered the “Heart of the Cotswolds” I can see why! With a beautiful walking path that stretches through the town you can shop at many of the small shops, grab lunch at the cafe, snag a Gelato or just sit on a bench and enjoy the beautiful river that runs through the town.
- Lower and Upper Slaughter- Another picturesque town! You can take a short 1 mile walk from Lower to Upper Slaughter, such a pretty walk! Check out The Old Mill and get a sense of what it was like to live back in 18th century!
- Duke of Marlborough Restaurant– we ate here, it is close to Blenheim Palace, we thought it was really good! Eton Mess for dessert is a must, a traditional British dessert.
- Blenheim Palace– We loved visiting Blenheim Palace! There was roof construction and when we were there they were preparing for a triathlon the next day, but we were happy we went. We went on a quick tour inside, but mostly enjoyed walking around outside. Blenheim Palace is a working stately home and the 12th Duke of Marlborough, Charles James Spencer-Churchill, and his family reside there. There have been several movies and shows filmed here, James Bond’s Spectre, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Mission Impossible, Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte, Cinderella, and Transformers: The Last Knight.
- Harry Potter Tree– To the right of Blenheim Palace, you can walk over the bridge and gorgeous lake to see the Cedar of Lebanon known as The Harry Potter Tree for its role in the 2007 film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. There are a few different ways you can see the tree, I read about it HERE. We aren’t even Harry Potter fans, and it was still fun to see, the tree is amazing!
- Daylesford– The most suggested place to visit when we were in The Cotswolds was Daylesford. You can eat at their restaurant, we had a delicious breakfast, shop for organic groceries, walk the grounds, shop for decor and even stay here. I would have loved to stay here! Celebrities are known to frequent Daylesford like David and Victoria Beckham.
- The Malthouse Collective– I would have liked to shop at this large antique mall, The Malthouse Collective, maybe next time!
- Luxury in the Cotswolds- We stayed at Luxory in The Cotswolds, in the “Grain Store”. There are so many great places to stay in the Cotswolds, but we found that this place fit our family the best, it had a huge grass area with Soccer and Bocci Ball for Finn and a Hot Tub! It runs more like an ARBNB than a Hotel, so be prepared to bring breakfast to cook at the home or drive 10 to 15 min for meals. We loved it here, clean and beautiful area!

Gorgeous pictures and tour!! I can’t help but notice that the green “plant” on the wall of the photo with the red flowers that says “So much design inspiration around every corner” looks like the Virginia Creeper I’m always pulling off my home walls in Florida. Looks beautiful there soooo….maybe I’ll let it grow and imagine I live there. lol
Thanks for sharing your photos and tour with us!!
