Simple Ways to Bring Fall Inside and Our Fall Porch

Is it starting to feel like fall where you are? The leaves are changing here in our Utah mountains and the mornings are a lot cooler. Felt like the time to add some cozy fall vibes to our home, taking you along! We went to a vintage market over the weekend and two items I found there inspired me to decorate for fall!

My kitchen shelves are typically where I start decorating for all, it is the easiest! Vegetables from the garden and the perfect fall “decor”. Using what you have and actually use is the best kind of decor. I did sprinkle in a few fall items HERE.

Ready for Trick or Treaters-

We brought our Giant Skelton right by the front door this year! Also added some dead branches to create an arch to hang Jack-O-Lanterns on. I got the black Jack-O-Lanterns two years ago at Walmart, you could spray paint plastic orange pumpkins, but I do like that mine have the eyes and mouth cut out for a candle glow. You could do these metal Jack-O-Lanterns, more expensive, but nice! Feels very festive.

Along the path, we mixed in houses with candles, glowing jack-o-lanterns and pumpkins.

After we set this all up, it made me really excited for Halloween night and to host a Halloween party!

A lot of my Halloween decor is older or thrifted, but these black terracotta jack-o-lanterns are new!

It was time to refresh the porch! This year has a Halloween vibe. Lots of classic colors like on this black and white gingham rug. It was fun to add all the different shades of colors with pumpkins.

I have these Leaf Iron Wreath (similar option here) and stuck a velvet bow along with crows on them! The crows can be taken down after Halloween to easily transition to a Thanksgiving porch! I used this magnetic hook to hand the wreath on the door.

Fall Colors-

Wanted to continue fall as we walk in the door with a few simple additions and swaps. Keeping in mind the fall colors I wanted to repeat throughout.

Fall foliage in a vase, even clip some branches from the yard is the best kind of decor. I swapped the lamp I had in here for this big rust colored one I found vintage shopping, perfect fall colors!

Faux Plum Stem // Ghost Garland // Pottery Ghosts

I love a cute candy bowl. The ceramic Skelton is actually a candle holder but I’m using it as a “welcome to our home!” treat bowl filled with a homemade trail mix, just candy corn, honey roasted nuts, and M&M candies!

Blankets-

Adding cozy blankets to a chair or sofa, is a fall must-have, especially as it get’s colder. I love that at throw can change the entire look of a chair. I put this really soft navy throw on my sherpa chairs, and it pulls in the blue we added to the entry and our newly painted piano!

Downloading art for your frame TV is another easy way to add fall art. Or download art to swap out art in frames you already have! I have this Witches at Tea art on mine.

Spooky Art-

If you have art already you can easily stick on bats, draw a ghost on the glass, or add an eye mask to the people! I tried my hand at spooky art using thrifted art I found for $30. I painted spooky ghosts and bats to create halloween art! I hung this wheat colored cedar garland, it is the same as our favorite green cedar garland.

If you have followed me for a bit you know I am a fan of battery operated candles! These flameless taper candles, are my favorite, they have a life-like candle flicker. You can always thrift candlesticks. I just added this brass candelabra! Tip- added clear elastics to the bottom of the candles to keep them in place, you won’t even see the elastic inside the candlestick.
