Prettiest Water Filter and Pop of Fall Decor in Drink Room

Did you know a water filter could be pretty? Who knew a water filter could actually be decor in our homes! A statement piece. Well, I found it, the most gorgeous water filter, I want one in every room. We already had a water filter, the Berkey, which I think is nice looking too, but not pretty. We recently took our stainless steel Berkey on a road trip to our cabin for the weekend (when you are used to nice filtered water you want it all the time, and I don’t like to buy plastic water bottles when I don’t have to). Needless to say, I conveniently left that stainless steel Berkey at the cabin, and whatta ya know, I needed to buy a water filter for the house. This is where the prettiest water filter enters the chat.

Why a water filter? Toxins are present in even the best tap water. And yes, a whole home water filter would be nice, but that is very expensive. The carbon block filters remove a variety of contaminants including VOCs, THMs, mercury, chlorine, Fluoride reduction and more. And just buying plastic water bottles isn’t a good solution. “The production, degradation, and waste of plastic bottles plus the consumption and use of petroleum to make, transport and recycle them, makes bottled water too costly a beverage.” You can read all that it filters out HERE.

All you do is fill the top chamber of the with tap water, which flows through the carbon block filters into the lower chamber. And purified water is ready to drink! We replace the carbon block filters once a year.

Big Walter (*code GRACE for 15% off*) is the perfect size for our family, it has the capacity of **2.5 gallons** of purified water. I put felt pads on the bottom, so I can slide it over to the sink and easily refill the top chamber to easily have purified water.

I did make a few changes to our drink room. One being the gingham curtain panel hiding the drink fridge, instantly gave the space a sweet cottage charm feel. I used this curtain panel, just cut and sewed it to the right height. Then hung the curtain panel with this tension rod between the two cabinets.

Also a few seasonal touches with seasonal icon cups (here are the everyday icon cups in this wood wall shelf. Cups just make me so happy. Something I for sure have too many of, but nobody will go without a cup!

Also pumpkin drink dispenser we use for Halloween parties and Thanksgiving. And my Robber Baroness Art moves around my home, I leave her on my portrait wall all year!

We have an SMEG Electric Kettle in here, makes it really easy to heat water without a stove. You can find them from a lot of brands. I went with SMEG, so it matched the rest of our appliances and I like the retro look. We also have a SMEG Frother, that heats 20 oz of milk to make a chai or homemade hot chocolate or just frothy milk.

Swapped our hanging mugs with old seasonal mugs I love to have out this time of year! I used a 1-1/4″ mug hook, this drill, and a 1/6″ drill bit to hang the mugs.
