Hello! Today I am doing a different type of post “A day in the Life”. I personally love taking a peek into others schedules and see how they get things done (especially with kids, because I have some of my own!). I partnered with the creators of “Goodnight Moon” a favorite book to share Finn’s schedule and mine. You can also ENTER to WIN two books! (Great gift if you don’t have young kids). Hop over to the blog and let me know if I didn’t address something you were interested in knowing!
Friday Favorites Starts With What I Learned From Downsizing
Happy Friday! I am happy because I found some really fun new favorite things to share with you that will be making their way to my home soon. Like three essential key pieces for fall and a new piece of furniture that is going to be a game changer in our tiny house. I shared some thoughts about moving and what stupid things we moved from UT to CT and what I learned. Also an answer to a “Ask Nesting with Grace Design Question!” All of it is over on the blog today.
But first here is the first picture we took in front of our little house when we moved in almost three years ago! And I didn’t share this link on the blog today, but I will with you guys because I consider my subscribers my friends. This is the first blog post I did, when I was just doing it as a journal and to send to family. I guess this is where it literally all started, the blog and out life in CT. You can read that HERE, but make sure to check out todays post too!
I love you like Biscuits and Gravy- Paleo Recipe too!
The dad in our house makes biscuits and gravy about once a week. He has really perfected it. He even made it for himself on Father Day and I took some pictures and notes to share with you! It is his own recipe that he almost didn’t let me share:) I requested a paleo version and he did not disappoint. Come get both recipe’s and see pictures from our breakfast.
New England Homes- Exterior Paint Color Ideas
Happy Memorial Day friends! The town we live in is so charming and especially right now. Everyone has their pride of being an American hanging on the front of their homes. I took some pictures of about 20 of my favorite homes- the homes that stop me dead in my tracks and offer so much inspiration! I even matched up some of the paint. Come take a walk with me around my neighborhood!
Friday Favorites starts with Bathrooms and more about us
I am a little late with my Friday Favorites today. But there were some really good things I want to share today! From some jaw dropping bathroom remodels to a little more about my family and what brought us from UT to CT. Hope you stop by to get to know us a little more and love to hear more about you!
Word of the Year- See it daily
Do you set new years resolutions? I like to pick a word of the year. I do set other goals too, but a word of the year is one of my favorites to do. I know that seeing those words and goals is the best way to help you achieve them. Come see all my simple ideas of displaying your word! This is a fun activity for the entire family.
How I Grew my Instagram to 100k
I started my Instagram account on a whim. We had been in our new home in CT for about 4 months and I needed a creative outlet. I was unsure of if I should just use my personal Instagram account and share design ideas that way. I bounced ideas off of my good friend Rachel and she was SO great to encourage me. Within the first 6 months I had close to 50k followers then a little over a year I had 100k followers. I shared things I learned along the way and also some of my TOP pictures from my Instagram account.
Top Blog Posts of 2016
I am excited to share this post with you…because it is what YOU all liked the most from my blog this past year. Some posts I knew would make my top 10 and some surprised me. Come see what you all liked the most and check out the 32 other bloggers that I linked at the bottom of the post who shared their top posts too. A lot of inspiring posts!
Love your Hair- Easy Hairstyles with Dove
Hair is a big deal at our house. I have always had a lot of hair- my husband will tease me and call me “Simba” from the Lion King after I blow dry it. It gets pretty frizzy! I was excited to partner with Dove’s #LoveYourHair campaign to encourage mothers to pass along hair confidence to their daughters. Come see how we really try to love our hair, without tears and where I end up doing their hair most mornings in our little cape.
Our Family Christmas Cards 2016
I think Christmas cards can cause a big stress for families- because most of the time they require a darling family picture. I almost went there and jumped on the stressed out Christmas card train. But I didn’t let myself. I stopped and thought “how can I make this the easiest and fun for my family?” And it totally worked! Come see what we did this year, how I display all our Christmas cards and the very first photo we ever took in front of our home.
Book Club- How To Start Your Own
I recently shared on my Instagram a piece of advice I heard from one of my favorite Podcasts. They said “Do something every day that cannot be un-done.” Basically it will make us Happier if we are able to do something that is different than the day before. So I thought something I look forward to is hosting and reading books and discussing them- both are things that cannot be un-done. Come read how I started my new bookclub and past favorite books I have read.
