Did you see I got a new rug? While I loved the pink rug. It was just feeling wrong to me. I found the perfect jute/wool rug that I LOVE!!! It feels right. And thankfully that pink rug went to a lovely blog reader, who is now enjoying it her in home! See the new space and new bamboo shades (that are ALL over our home) HERE.
I am VERY excited to share this home with you. This is a client of mine that I did a design plan for and accessorized every inch. BUT it was all pieces that were thrifted. I gave her the plan and she got the same look by thrifting everything. There are a lot of great photos of FOUR rooms in home. I also shared FIVE tips to find thrifted pieces like she does.
Below is the BEFORE photo of her family room- you will not believe the AFTER and the fact that is was all thrifted.

Happy Friday! We got a new rug in our front room. It is very different from what we had. I do like it- it has more a distinct color now. I know not everyone will like it, but we are enjoying the change. Shared more favorites from the week too! (See it HERE)
If you are apart of our Nesting with Grace Facebook group you know we had a late night last night! Thank you to everyone who helped the group with over 100 specific questions on exteriors! (Make sure to join HERE since you are an email subscriber).
And Happy Mothers Day!!
I have learned that there are two important questions to ask yourself before starting to design a new room. Luckily I have learned from my mistakes. Along with that knowledge comes a new front room and a new spot for our front room rug. Pop over and see what changes I made!
I have blogged about our master bedroom more times than is probably “normal.” Every time that I have shared our master bedroom you have never seen the ceiling. It is always strategically cropped out. That is because I was hiding a secret. The ceiling was bad. But now is the day you get to see the ceiling in all it’s glory- be excited. And a new ceiling leads to new bedding- rug- lighting, you know the drill. Come see the big reveal.
One question I get asked often by clients is “do you really put a rug over carpet?” My answer is always a resounding yes! And then the next question is “what size should I do?” You are not alone if you have a too small of rug, even the lovely Joanna Gaines from HGTV Fixer Upper has fallen victim to “death by too small of a rug.” Follow these simple tips to pick the right size rug and see if you have a rug that is too small for your space…
We recently updated our upstairs family room with new wallpaper, lighting, rug and a barn track door. If you have been following my blog you know that our home is a 1200 square foot Cape in Connecticut. The previous home owners used this space as a master bedroom. When I was deciding how we would use the home I knew I couldn’t take a large room like this for our master bedroom. Now living in the home for over a year, I am completely happy with the decision to turn it into our family room, this room gets used a lot! It also doubles as a guest room. Before I show you the entire room I wanted to show you the before when the previous home owners lived there and so you can imagine it as a master bedroom…
Spring is my favorite season. I love when I can clip fresh blooms from the yard and easily brighten my home, especially my living room. When Spring rolls around I find myself wanting to declutter and change things up in my home. I am constantly moving things around. I recently got a gorgeous new piece of art from the lovely Deann Designs, who has been featured in Country Living amongst many other venues. Getting something new always spurs on a little re-decorating. Including inexpensive ways to change up your home for spring.
