When we got home from Fall Break with the kids in Hawaii, it was about 35 degrees in Utah, we could see snow on the mountains by our house, and Lola’s new Christmas tree was on our porch. So we did what one does after a red eye flight. We put up a Christmas tree. Lola was really excited to decorate for Christmas she said “hey google play Christmas songs” and we started! Her bedroom turned out pretty magical!

We started by hanging garland over her window seat. Lola and Ella have the best view of the mountains, so we needed garland to highlight the view. I also had her window seat made locally, in a gingham blue fabric that really completes the look! PS- her roman shade is from here

I used two pieces of 6′ flocked garland, string of battery operated twinkle lights, star garland and three gold birds. To hang over the window I just hammered in two long nails in each corner of the molding, and hooked the garland over each nail.

PS- if you are new here, you can find the original sources on Lola’s bedroom, here.

Olive loves to be in Lola’s room, she jumped up and sat her head on the ledge to look out the window.

Lola’s bookcase got some extra love this Christmas. Normally I just do a Christmas tree in the kids bedrooms, but I found a few new things I knew she would love. These battery operated candles really brighten up the shelves, and look great all year. Also Holly, the Christmas Unicorn art, I keep up all year!

Light-up initial with the sweetest wonderland scene, make for a great addition to any kids room for Christmas. Also the holiday village is so sweet, with the bottle brush trees!

I do take out some of the plants on her bookshelf, and put in a nook in her bathroom by a window. Helps to simplify a little to make room for the fun Christmas decor. PS- love this flower velvet pillow, great gift!

On this side of her bedroom, we added a flocked Christmas tree, balances out the magical glow!

Her flocked Christmas tree is a favorite, slim and fits really anywhere. Has the prettiest faux snow.

For the ornaments, she has mostly all vintage. We did add these darling travel poodle ornaments, one of Rome and New York City, two places we have visited. Also these gold frames we made last year with polaroid photos and ribbon. We use the Fuji Install Printer to print photos right from our phone.

Lola text me that night after she went up to her room and said “loving my room”! Put a big smile on my face to hear that it was making her happy.

Lola can now enjoy the extra magical lights in her room for two months! Stay tuned as we deck the rest of our halls for Christmas!
