Christmas in our Basement- Where Christmas Morning Happens

I almost didn’t share these photos of our basement. Our basement is hard to photograph since it doesn’t get a lot of natural light, so I don’t always love the photos, even tho I adore it in person. The Christmas decor and lights, make it extra magical down here, so I thought I would share it anyways, and hopefully it will give you ideas for your home, or just give you a cozy warm feeling! Our basement is actually where Christmas morning happens, all the presents are around this tree. And we host our family parties down here, because it has the most seating and the kids can play games while parents chat.

Christmas Decor in our Basement-

Our gold velvet sectional faces the tv that hangs over a vintage church pew, while the white sofa faces the fireplace. The chairs are layered in front of the fireplace, for extra seating and they help balance out the colors. Really makes for the perfect gathering space, a large square!
The gold frame is actually around our frame tv, where all the Christmas movies are watched! We love the vintage church pew under the tv, instead of a standard tv console, for more seating. When we had our last family party, every seat was taken in this room, 4 adults and a few dogs sat on that church pew. Made me so happy to see it so full.
I put real garland from The Home Depot around the tv, it is super long and framed it nicely. We recently installed these wall sconces that plug in (the garland is hiding the cords).
We went with color on this tree, the kids helped me decorate it! I have had that flocked tree for a couple years now, I love how full it is.
The Peace ribbon is old, but I cut it into 15″ pieces and tucked it in throughout the tree. The little houses I got at Target dollar section and again, just tucked them in the tree, love the texture! The other day it felt like it needed something else so I tied this pink velvet ribbon into a knot and used a bobby-pin to attach to the tree. The colorful glass ornaments are so fun!!!

Kind of obsessed with collecting swans when we go vintage shopping, this Swan art from Lindsay Letters (nesting20 for 20% off), was calling my name, and it fits the room perfectly.
And this Village scene is the sweetest and perfect black contrast (nesting20 for 20% off)
We layered our vintage ornaments in that large glass jar we had, Lola helped me do that, and she was so proud!
Hopefully we will complete that puzzle over Christmas break!
Garland draped over art, makes for fun Christmas decor!
We love this spot for games around the Holidays especially!

I LOVE this Christmas Tree, it has colored lights too and those big round bulbs came on it. Recently aded this diamond rug and it cozied up this space. Also added a strand of the real garland around that tv too.
