The key to a fluffy bed is all about the bedding inserts. A fluffy bed means it looks like if you jumped in the bed you would leave an imprint when you got up, and really wouldn’t want to get up! Sharing all the keys to creating a fluffy bedding look and all the beds in our home.

I worked in a high-end design store for 17 years! I bought my first fluffy duvet when I was 20, and it cost around $300, I saved up for it, I wanted fluffy bedding instead of any pair of name brand shoes or bag. And guess what, I had that same duvet, for 20ish years, up until maybe 4 years ago, when I gave it to someone for a bedroom makeover. When you buy quality inserts, they last and they are the foundation to every good bed.

Bedding Favorites-

Duvet Insert– A quality insert can last 20+ years. This is my favorite! It is organic, fluffy, light, cooling in the summer & warming in the winter. This does not get lumpy or feel hot. (I buy actual size the bed is, it fits!!!)
Euro Pillow Inserts– The BEST pillow inserts!!! I use these for EURO & ACCENT PILLOWS exact size of cover.
Mattress Protector– This goes on every mattress, a mattress cover, it is cooling too! (I also linked a water protective HERE).
Decorative Sham Inserts– Down & feather pillow insert for STANDARD & KING decorative shams.
Sleeping Pillow– Favorite sleeping pillow. Adjustable, Greenguard Certified, for stomach & side sleepers.

Primary Bedroom-

I basically make all my beds the same. Sheets, quilt, duvet. Sometimes I just use sheets and duvet, but always a duvet. That is what gives your bed the fluffy look. On our recent bedroom refresh, we did two duvets, yes, two instead of a quilt. We can easily fold the one duvet back over the bench, but we keep the house pretty cold, so we like to sleep with two. Plus a quality duvet shouldn’t make you feel hot. This organic duvet insert is my favorite, I use it on every bed we makeover.

Fold Away Beds (Cots)-

The kids love using these fold away cots for sleepovers. We keep in the closet we can quickly bring out. I have slept on them and they are comfortable! We have taken these fold away beds other places too. I really love the height of these so everyone can chat easily and nothing deflates in the middle of the night!

Same fold away bed, stored in the closet that we can easy access and pop up! I like that they are only 11″ deep when folded, so they don’t take up a lot of space.
PS- I had these strawberry sheets on the bed, they sold out, but found these that are similar. Also gingham duvet HERE with THIS duvet insert.

Guest Room

On the Woven Leather Bed I kept it simple and did everything in the Gingham Checkered classic pattern (it comes in three other colors). In this room we can comfortably sleep 4. Across the room from our queen bed, is a daybed!
