Welcome to our Cozy Cape Cod home Christmas tour…take 3! If you follow me or have read any of my other posts you know we have a little quant house in Connecticut, that we have lived in for less than a year. But that hasn’t stopped me from packing our place full of large furniture and a lot of our favorite things. That includes Christmas decor.
I am partnering up with some of my other favorite bloggers for Winter Bloggerland Tour, hosted by The House of Silver Lining. If you found me from Haneen’s Haven welcome! And thank you for following along for the tour.
I recently shared our front room, my two daughters new shared bedroom and different areas of our kitchen. This post I will show more of my kitchen, our master bedroom and guest room. Our kitchen is my favorite spot in our home, probably because we put the most work into it and it when we moved in this past January.
We spend the most time in this space that is about 10’x13′. My mother-in-law said that is the hardest working kitchen when she FaceTimed us the other night.
I added a few simple Christmas touches. Most of it all things I had on hand. The fresh clippings from our pine tree really adds a lot. I loved adding red in this area of our home. Red candy canes and red dishes towels I picked up at Home Goods add a Christmas feel also. And the copper kettle from World Market is another favorite touch.
I love those red and white tin Christmas plates that were a gift years and years ago. I pull them out every year and think of my friend.
As soon as Christmas comes I start craving this drink, it is my favorite Holiday splurges. I normally only make it for parties, not on a random photo shoot, but I sure did enjoy it. And I thought I would share it on this tour…
It is really that simple! When I make it for parties I put it in a big punch bowl. Mix a small carton of Egg Nog (I use light) with a liter of Ginger Ale (I normally don’t use the entire liter, just add it until it is a nice consistency. Then drop the Peppermint Ice-cream in big chunks. I sprinkle crushed up candy canes on the top of everyones individual cups. People will say “oh I don’t like Egg Nog” and I look at them like they are crazy… I love the stuff! I tell them it doesn’t taste like egg nog, it just adds the right consistency. It is SO good! Everyone always loves it after they try it.
We love to write Christmas messages with our gold alphabet letters. I spray painted plastic alphabet letters with my favorite gold spray paint. My daughter painted that darling santa the other day while listening to Christmas music, it is my favorite and such a simple way to add Christmas decor….get your kids working on a project!
Now onto our cozy master bedroom. This is another room we like to cuddle in and watch a Christmas movie so I thought it would be fun to add a few Christmas touches this year. You can find details and sources of this room HERE.
My antler sign from VOL25 isn’t just a Holiday print but it really adds to the ambiance.
I hung fresh garland that I picked up at Home Depot above our bed and also above our kitchen sink. It smelt so good the first couple of days. And for $10 total it adds such a simple festive touch.
I added some more small mini trees in our bedroom like I did in our Living Room. I had mentioned that we don’t have a full-size tree in our house so instead I put these small trees throughout our home. This is one of my favorite spots to sit and read, it is pretty cozy. I always bring out more throws as soon as it turns Fall. I love my newest one from HERE.
I just added this wall grouping above my chair. Some are pieces I found at a thrift store and the new small sketch is from Minted.
I couldn’t pass up this bear pillow I saw at Target the other day. The other side is a black and white buffalo check. I really can’t say no to animal accessories. We don’t have pets, so we like to pretend.
I switched up my bedding for the winter. I really just added a throw over the white duvet and added moved pillows that I had in other areas of my home. But that large kidney pillow is new…oh how I love it! You can find it HERE.
I added a few touches of Christmas to our guest room. It really isn’t “Christmas” specific, but shows simple ways to add a winter look to a beach house. This is the first glance I have really shared of this room, I will have to share more details later.
We are less than a mile from the beach. I really wanted our guest room to feel like a vacation. We LOVE to have visitors so I tried to keep it extra cozy. Our family is all about 2,000 miles away so we try to lure them anyway we can. It helps to be an hour away from New York City too!
All I have really added is the fun pom pom garland, fresh clippings from our pine tree and a real little tree with lights.
Hopefully that gave you some inspiration on simple ways to add a seasonal change to your home.

Oh my I just love seeing this glimpse into your home it is beautiful and I just love your style! I know you mentioned the red transferware Christmas tree plates were a gift from a friend, but I wondered if you could share more about them, are they vintage? Do they have a marking on the back?
