This is our guest room with three twin beds, our “bunk room”! We love having space for guests. My dream is to own rental properties, so I am getting in my practice in our own guest rooms. Our kids have loved this bedroom too. A couple months ago when we moved in, Finn asked me everyday to “please set up the twin beds”! He really wanted to have a sleepover with his sisters.
When we bought this 1970’s home the basement was partially finished and the space we wanted to make into a bedroom was not finished. We were able to make the windows larger, really transforming this basement guest room!
Guest Bedroom Before-

Guest Bedroom After-

This room just makes me happy to walk into. I hope our guests feel the same way! We have the essentials, a comfy mattress, soft layered bedding, pillow options, and a couple places to get ready. The essentials and extra “surprise and delight”!

We already had the Rattan Twin Beds, from the girls room in our Connecticut home. I ordered one more bed to maximize the sleeping space. So the beds were the starting off point then the next thing I selected was the colorful rug. So color was the theme!

The bedding on this bed is so cozy and soft! The sheets are a fun pattern and SO soft. I added the Faux Fur throw to add a pop of color and extra warmth when needed. (I linked everything at the end!)

We ended up going for a fun purple color on the window trim, molding and the doors. We tried three different colors and all of us said purple was our favorite, even Kevin voted for it! color is Sugared Almond from Farrow & Ball.

We hung these Green Wall Sconces (with magic light trick). They work perfectly for an extra glow and replaces the need for a lamp. Plus I only had space for a small side table for books and a drink.

I hung a grouping of frames over two of the beds. Framed some personal photos from our travels, the swings at our local amusement park, and the lifeguard tower at Turtle Beach in Maui. All of them holding a lot of memories. I found some prints in Hawaii when we were there last, a great souvenir.

The perfect piece to finish off the room was the Rainbow Checkerboard Gradient Art! Love it SO much!!!

Thankfully we were able to make these basement windows bigger than they were before. The extra light adds so much to a basement! That was another reason I wanted to leave the walls a brighter white (All White Farrow & Ball).

Those fun purple doors are just the happiest things ever! Out the furthest door is our wet bar with the yellow tile and pink fridge. And the first door is the bathroom with the star tile.

I moved this Floor Mirror in here with a few side tables for another spot guests can get ready!

Thanks for taking the guest room tour!

Thank you so much for the printables! Ordered one of each already!
I just love this room!! It is a happy space! 😁 And thank you for the printable!!
The use of color in this room is amazing! I got so much inspiration from this…from the wall sconces to the gallery framing above the bed to the bedding. Also to use more color!! It’s so fun! 🙂
Such a bright, happy place!! Question: do you use covers over your window wells for critters etc? 😆 We have ours covered which means no natural light comes into our basement. I love how bright yours are!
yes we have a cover, they are iron and dob’t really block out any light
