Our bedroom was the last bedroom we finished decorating, I am excited to finally share it with you! When we bought this 1970’s home this bedroom was covered in a floral wallpaper, with matching curtains and coordinating orange carpet. While I LOVE and appreciate the effort put into the original bedroom, it was time for an update! We had the wallpaper removed and changed up the footprint of the en-suite bathroom. I will share the bathroom soon, but today I am sharing the bedroom!

Bedroom After-

Cabinet // Bench // Rug // Art Mothers Embrace // Dutch Euros // Round Pillow // Knitted Blanket

We even had extra space for a mini seating area! I like an extra cozy house, so that tends to lean towards more spots to sit and read or just gaze out the windows at the mountains. I had originally ordered a wood bench, but this Boucle Settee is a much better fit for the room.

We added a gas fireplace to our bedroom, and we use it daily. I love being able to flip on a switch to warm up the space and create a real hygee vibe. Gas heats up the room more than our electric fireplace did. You do have to have a chimney with a gas fireplace. Our gas fireplace is this Bayport series. You can easily add an electric fireplace to your current home like we did in our Connecticut home. You can see that electric fireplace with brick and Limewash here.

I actually thrifted the art to the side of the fireplace, I am always on the lookout for a great piece of art with a nice frame.

The Floor Mirror has been on my wish list for a long time! Happy I had the perfect spot in our bedroom for it. The slipcover chair and ottoman has moved to ALL our homes. We have had it for close to 20 years!!! Just proves you get your money out of quality, timeless pieces.

Above our fireplace we have a Frame TV, disguised as art! I know some are against a TV in the bedroom, but we really like it. We occasionally do a family movie night in our bed, so a TV is a must for us.

We have a Frame TV in a couple other spots in our home, they just looks so good! I downloaded a bundle of prints to put on the TV from HERE and added the frame around the TV from HERE.

All of the windows are original wood windows. We still need to order the grid for the windows over the nightstands. We painted them all black inside to match the new windows we aded to the second floor. I did my favorite black curtain rod with the IKEA Ritva white curtain panels. We have three curtain panels on each side.

Thrilled with this Ficus tree I found at our local plant shop. I got it for 50% off! Just needed a little love, water and sun! Paired it with this side stool.

I found this iron and upholstery bed in-stock, loved it as soon as I saw it! My favorite type of bed is an upholstered bed, it is cozy to lean against. I knew we were going to paint the room white and I prefer some contrast in every room, so the combo of upholstery and iron was perfect for us! Plus the leather straps …drool!!! (Our mattress is a non-toxic Tuft & Needle, the Hybrid, the most comfortable mattress ever!).

The Birch Tree art feels like it was made for this room!

Our bedding is a mash-up of several different shops. Sleeping pillows are in the back with Dutch Euros, 22″ Boucle Cream Pillow, Boucle Round Pillow, Linen Quilt (warm brown), Linen Duvet Cover with this medium weight down insert and finished with Chunky Knitted Blanket (warm brown).

This lovely cabinet I ordered for our basement family room. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t fit down the stairs! Thankfully we had a spot for it in our bedroom. It really is great in here.

And that Light Fixture is a favorite thing!!! Our ceilings are 8 feet tall and it was hard to find a large light fixture that didn’t hang too low. This was the perfect solution, on a dimmer switch of course!

The curtains look amazing! Do you have trick for the way you hang them?
Love ir allá! Amazing
Wow!! Wow!! Maybe my favorite room so far! Wow!
Absolutely perfect!!
It’s so pretty Brooke! You definitely are gifted! Love everything in the room and love the neutral pallet 🤎🤍💛!
Looks fabulous! Do you have dressers? If so, are they hidden in the closet?
thanks! We have drawers in our closet that work as a dresser!
Everything looks beautiful Brooke !!! You are fabulous at decorating and putting it all together !!! Congratulations on your beautiful home!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍
Your bedroom is just lovely! Can you tell me more about the wood beams? They really add so much to your room…what type of wood are they & are they “hollow” or solid…? Thank you!💕
WOW!!!!! STUNNING! I love how peaceful it feels! The earth tones are beautiful. I love all of your furniture too!🤍🤍🤍 You are gifted!🤍
Wow! Looks wonderful. Enjoy
I can feel the comfort and ease this room provides. A great bedroom but a comforting and relaxing room for the whole family. Provides a grouping for a private conversation and a cozy spot for a winter night movie. Don’t need to tell you great job and fantastic attention to detail.
This is so inspiring! We’re redoing a cabin fixer upper and I’ve gotten so many tips from you. Question – are those faux beams? Were they custom? We want to do something similar but don’t know where to start.
Thanks! They are faux beams. We had our finish carpenter do them when he did our finish work. I know there are tutorials online….
Where are your sheets from?
oh sorry HERE are my sheets! We love them
So inspiring. Thank you for sharing your gift. Congratulations!!!
What a lovely room. I would never leave!
Absolutely beautiful! Do have info on the chair and ottoman? I didn’t see it mentioned!
they are both close to 18 years old, I got at The Black Goose Design in Utah
simply SPECTACULAR !!!
i took a social media fast after Christmas and then reevaluated how i would use Instagram once i “came back” . your account was the one i missed the most and wondered over what i was missing …. i have always looked forward to every instagram post , story and blog post but your move to your new home is next level !! i’ve seriously curtailed the accounts i am giving my time to , but yours is a MUST .
love it
love it
love it .
i appreciate the light you shine !!
Brooke, every room you design is an amazing source of inspiration and joy. Would you be willing to share how much it cost to put a fireplace into a bedroom like that? And is that fireplace facing an outside wall? I would love to eventually do this in our bedroom. But the wall I could put it on goes into my laundry room. I could put it on an outside wall, but the bed placement might be a little awkward. I would love your insight on how difficult this was to pull off.
I’m not Brooke:) but I would think an electric fireplace could be on an interior wall. It shouldn’t affect the adjoining room at all. Have you seen her post on the electric fireplace she did in their last house? Just use the search on the main page and you should find it!
What a lovely bedroom! If it were mine, I think I wouldn’t have the settee. I like a more open look, and it probably isn’t really needed. But this pretty bedroom isn’t mine😊.
Now I don’t know which room I like better… family room or badroom? Love them both!
Beautiful space! So homey and cozy!
In all your bedrooms, you don’t use bed skirts and I love the look. My daughter has a iron bed frame that is beautiful and would like to have it exposed as you do. Issue is her bed has a box spring mattress under her pillow top mattress. What can I do to hide the “ugliness”? Your home is gorgeous!!
Good question! Mattress height plays a part in that for sure. Maybe she needs a low-profile box spring? Or none at all?
I also order a quilt that is the right size- often more expensive quilts are slightly oversized- so check sizes before you order.
Or you could put a fitted sheet on the box spring to hide it?
once again … AMAZING!! your style is so accessible and lovely! {big puffy heart} one question: did you guys scrape the ceilings or cover them with thin wood sheets? I can’t remember during the process you showed on The Gram how you went about doing so. thanks in advance!!
