I am getting antsy to freshen up our front porch. It has been so rainy here in CT. I told the girls, April showers bring May flowers and they couldn't stop singing it all morning yesterday. It was cute and I am really hoping that all this rain will bring gorgeous flowers to our front yard! I am working with Joss and Main for a little front porch update first part of May. I am excited to get THIS chair for our front porch. And a new doormat, below are my favorite doormats. 1- Hey Good Lookin HERE /// 2- Well Hello There HERE /// 3- Come as you are HERE 4- Hello its me HERE /// 5- You ... Read More

Built-in Kitchen Banquette Reveal
I am so excited to share our FINISHED Built-in Banquette with you! I shared back on THIS post in January that we really wanted to add a built-in banquette to our tiny kitchen. And I have talked about this banquette a lot since then, can you tell how excited I am about it?! If you have read my blog before this post you already know that we had a cozy little settee in our kitchen that we were using as a banquette. I was REALLY sad to see that settee go. It was comfortable and good looking settee and held a lot of memories. I was willing to part with it to gain some extra seating and ... Read More

As I finish writing the last bit of my Friday Favorites today it is snowing outside in Connecticut and school is canceled. It was gorgeous yesterday. So wild this weather. And so wild how quickly school gets canceled on the East coast. It was a great week- full of spring inspiration. I just have the bug for spring and some changes. So excited to share the changes I have been making around our home. Until then these are some of may favorite things from the past week that inspired me. Just got THIS design book, Old Home Love. I love the gold binding. It is absolutely gorgeous and ... Read More
Banquette Seating- Cha cha cha changes in our Kitchen
January was our two year anniversary of living in our little cape in Connecticut. We were quick to make a lot of changes to the home right when we moved in. I couldn't wait to paint the entire house, rip out the carpet in our upstairs, update both bathrooms and tackle the outdated kitchen. We did all of it within the first few months. I really wanted to add some sort of banquette style seating in our little eat-in kitchen. But I was tired of spending our savings on this house and just wanted to be done with the projects. So I made our settee work and created a little banquette with what we ... Read More
Connecticut Home Tour
Hello! This is our home in Fairfield, Connecticut. We lived here for 6 years and loved it! We picked this home because of the location, and knew we could make it better than before, and investment! Half a mile to the beach, or take a short walk into town, then hop on a train and in an hour you would be in New York City watching a play or eating somewhere yummy! The home was 1100 square feet, with an unfinished basement, that had all our storage, and laundry (basement couldn't ever be finished due to living in a flood zone). We remodeled and added on about 300 square feet (you can see our floor ... Read More
Top Blog Posts of 2016
I have been blogging for about a year and a half now and really love it. I started blogging when I moved to Connecticut as a way to keep up on my design skills and stay current with what was going on in the design world. Not to mention it has been another form of journaling I didn't consider. I had quit my job as a manager/buyer and designer to stay at home with my kids, I was thrilled to start this new chapter of my life but I also knew that setting goals and accomplishing tangible things contributes to my happiness. So a blog seemed like it would fill that need. Little did I know how busy it ... Read More
Painting Tips and Favorite Paints with Trimaco
I have had a few painting projects in the back of my mind....just waiting for the right time to be painted. Or I should say the right time for the husband to be around to paint them. Painting projects can seem overwhelming- no matter the size. One of the reasons I put off painting my piano and big sideboard for years was because I thought I would have to have a garage to paint them in or even have to move them out of my home. I was excited to come across Trimaco and all their great products to tackle any project in your home. I partnered with them to share some of our painting tips that we ... Read More

DIY Glass Terrarium
Any chance I get to go to my friend Annie's home I take it, or ask for it rather! Her home was the perfect backdrop for these glass terrariums that we wanted to make. I knew that she would also have great ideas and give me reassurance that our terrariums were up to par since she writes a blog too, Most Lovely Things and has an amazing sense of style. She welcomed us with a little greeting on her front door that she wrote with a pen like THIS. We headed right to her backyard to get working on our glass terrariums. My girls were very excited for this project. We have been ... Read More
