What do I do with my TV wall is a question I hear a lot! We all wish that we didn't have want to have the TV in our family room, but we do. What can we say, most Americans love their TV and why not make it look good? I received two questions for my "Ask a Designer Series" from my subscribers in regards to their TV wall. After looking at their pictures I thought, first I should talk about what NOT to do, mistakes that are often made on TV walls. Now I am not just pointing out the mistakes from the questions I was sent. We see these same "mistakes" over and over. But do not worry, they can ... Read More

Friday Favorites starts with ways to Make the Most of Everything
On my Instagram the other day. I talked about how my really good friend lived in a small house in Downtown Salt Lake City. Most homes in that area are older, just like mine and smaller scale. I have to say I LOVED driving up to her home and passing the small quant restaurants all glowing at night. She lived on the most charming street, one of those streets you want to get out and walk so you can peep in the windows. Well one of downsides to this charming area and home is lack of storage. Back then we lived in 3,000 square feet in a new residential area. I have to admit I was a little horrified ... Read More
Back To School-Three Tips That Keep Mom Sane!
We are headed back to school next week. It got me thinking of what we can do to be successful at this whole school thing. Besides the basic homework and getting enough sleep. Because I have had kids leave the house in tears and I want to go pull them out of class and give them a hug (or text them a message, thank goodness for the Gizmo Gadget, anyone's kids have one of those? Best thing ever!) I can typically relate it back to the fact that we were not prepared. So I shared three of my little back to school tips that have kept me sane and also made getting to school on time a lot easier with ... Read More

Three Different Looks-To Determine Your Design Style
I warned you I was going to wallpaper this accent wall again! Remember how I had no wallpaper here- then wallpaper- then no wallpaper again and now wallpaper (did I loose you?) I took down the previous wallpaper because it was temporary and I was ready for a change. I thought I would like it with no wallpaper here, just keeping it simple because that look is really "in". Well turns out I don't care if simple is in, I love character more than I like simple and safe. So there you have it. For those of you who might not fully know or have yet to embrace your personal style. I have THREE different ... Read More
Friday Favorites Start with a Home Created with Purpose
I am going to be honest with you. I LOVE decorating our home- I would change things often even if the blog didn't exist. Maybe because of the blog changes are made more often, but they would still be made. BUT one thing that I struggle with as a blogger and on social media is I don't want to sound like I am saying "buy this or look what I just got!" or "Look at my perfect house." I want to share with purpose and design with purpose. I blog and share our home because it pushes me personally to set goals and stay creative. Keeps me sane. I have that achiever personality that I feel lousy at ... Read More
Friday Favorites Starts With What I Learned From Downsizing
Downsizing has taught me SO much. We went from 3200 square feet to 1100 square feet! That is a BIG difference. I still can't believe ALL the crap I brought with us when we moved. It is embarrassing, for example- 4 sets of dishes, 10 plastic totes full of baby and girl clothes, 8 extra dining chairs that I didn't have a spot for, a lot of seasonal crap, a giant turkey roaster (you know for that BIG thanksgiving I could host in our 10x10 kitchen) a crepe maker, ice-cream maker, a million blankets, sleeping bags for that one time we might actually go camping (never) and a bazillion canning ... Quick Healthy Green Smoothie Recipe
I shared on my Friday post that I got a Vitamix for Mothers Day and that I would share my favorite smoothie recipe. Smoothies are my quick-go to meal replacement. Sometimes I don't have time to sit and eat breakfast or lunch so making a quick healthy smoothie is a life saver, especially when trying to eat my best and healthiest. I asked my hubby if he knew I wanted a Vitamix from THIS post where I talked about making my favorite Paleo Non-Dairy Ice-Cream. A reader asked what type of blender I had and I told her I really wanted a Vitamix. Kevin said he saw that comment after he ... Read More

I shared Part I of "How I survive Paleo and Whole 30" HERE. It has been one of my most popular blog posts. I thought I would do a follow up post and share more of my favorite Paleo recipes and a couple are even Whole30 approved. I go on and off from eating a strict Paleo diet to eating about 90% Paleo. I recently started it up again and this is how I see the quickest changes and results in my body. From how my stomach feels, my self perception, to how I look on the outside. These are some of my tried and true Paleo recipes...the recipes I share with all of my friends! I ... Read More
Homemade Artisan Bread- The Easiest recipe Six different ways
I have shared my moms favorite Homemade Artisan Bread recipe on my blog before. I had a special sign made for her for mothers day last year with a scripture about bread. My mom made this homemade bread everyday for a year and took it to someone new. She figured it only cost her 24 cents to make and not anytime at all, but I am sure it brightened someones day to know they were thought about. My mom and I came up with 6 different ways to make this bread. It is the easiest bread recipe ever! Seriously you don’t have to knead this bread or any fancy equipment. I personally don’t eat a lot to ... Read More
