We have been working on our outdoor kitchen for about 10 months! Normally it isn't that long of a process, but because we started in October, we knew the weather would be a determining factor on when it would be complete. And it did. Utah had one of the heaviest winters in years! It could have been done in about 2 months had we not started it heading into winter. Along with the outdoor kitchen addition, we knew we needed some type of coverage over the top from the elements, so we also added a large metal awning that could open and close and not block any light going into our house. We Planted a Tree and Created a Seating Area
We had to have several trees removed from our yard after they were attacked by beetles. Sad day when a tree dies. But happy day when a new tree is planted. It was quite the process having dead trees removed, the stump ground down, root ball and soil prepared for a new tree. We did have professionals do all those steps, it was a really big job. The one perk of our tree dying was our new tree is slimmer, making room for a pair of chairs, the perfect spot to watch kids playing and chat with neighbors walking by. I love to create seating areas all through our yard as more places to sit and gather. ... Read More
Statement Serving Pieces in our Curio Cabinet and Biscoff Cookie Cake
It feels good to clear everything out of a cabinet, sideboard or anywhere that you want to restyle and start fresh! We have a glass curio cabinet in our dining room that is one of my favorite pieces to style, because it can hold a lot of items and I like that the backdrop is white so everything pops. When styling any area of my home I decorate with items that we actually use, so I try to buy the cutest version of an item. In an office I buy the flower handle scissors so they can double as decor. In dining rooms we use cloth napkins rather than paper, so those cloth napkins match our decor and ... Read More
Hanging Chairs- How to Hang a Hanging Chair
We currently have 6, yes SIX hanging chairs in our house! Granted, 5 of the hanging chairs are outside but, if you can't tell, I am a fan! Our first hanging chair we ever had in our home was a double hanging chair in our girls room. It felt like a dream to have one! They just seem so special and whimsical. I thought I would share how high we hang the chairs from the floor, how to attach a hanging chair to a ceiling and how far from the wall. Examples of Hanging Chairs- How to attach a hanging chair to the ceiling- How far from the floor to hang a hanging ... Read More
Crib to Toddler Big Girl Bed for Niece Evie
My niece, Evie was ready for a big girl bed! She is 3 years old and it was time to pass her crib to her new baby brother. We actually ended up swapping her bedroom with her new brother, Cooper. Made it easy to leave the crib where it was. Her grandma bought her a new bed and I put together a design plan and we gifted her a makeover! I think this room might be my favorite, but I might always say that after a makeover! I REALLY love the wallpaper we did for Evie. Thank you to The Company Store for sponsoring this post Big Girl Design Plan- Evie Baby Room Before- Evie Big Girl ... Read More

Sweet Coconut Cereal Treat- Addictive!!
Growing up we camped for our summer vacations. I loved it, we have lots of cousins we played with and always lots of yummy food. My grandma would bring treats she'd made and a sweet coconut cereal treat was always one of my favorites. Well, I've changed up the ingredients to make it with ingredients we have on hand, like honey instead of Corn Syrup. It is still definitely a treat! In fact, we like this version even better! Sweetened with honey and coconut oil. ... Read More
