I was SO excited when I figured out how to make a sconce have LIGHT without having to do anything with electrical wiring. Basically magic. A light trick! I had ordered some sconces for the Nursery we just completed for my Sister-in-law on my last blog post. I wasn't sure if we could easily change them to have a plug or figure out how to run electricity to them. Well I came up with a solution that involved none of the above and that cost under $20, done in 2 minutes! We recently removed the header that was above our window seat. Creating the perfect spot to add a sconce above our window seat ... Read More

Top Blog Posts of 2017 and Why they were the Top
2017, you were a good one! As I went to write this blog post all about my "Top Blog Posts of 2017" I thought I would also share the WHY. Why I think or know what made them successful. Blogs are kind of a mystery and interesting at the same time, so I thought some might want to know a little more of the details. These top blog posts are not just what I liked the most or what I think should on the top. They were taken right from Google Anyalitcs, some were a surprise and some I knew would make the Top Ten. I define success in so many ways. A lot is based off of happiness. What does ... Read More
Nursery Project- The Plan!
I am excited to get the chance to do another baby boys nursery! My sister in-law is having a baby boy and he is due in April. We are in Utah for Christmas, that is where they live. So we are taking on the project of getting it all finished in two days. Oh boy! I love stuff like this. I ordered everything online, so I don't have to do much shopping. Just the labor and we have people with tools and talents helping us. Sharing the design plan for the nursery and the projects we want to tackle. I am partnering with Lowes on this Nursery Project. I have worked with them on THIS Mud Room Remodel ... Read More

Paleo Coconut Pineapple Easter Cake and Printable Cake Topper
I am joining Annie from Zevy Joy and a talented group of bloggers today to share some Easter inspiration! My daughter made me worried yesterday saying Easter was this coming Sunday! After brief panic I realized...it is not, we have about two weeks. But her little mistake started a fire under me to get Easter baskets put together and make a plan for our Easter Sunday. We go to church every Sunday, but really look forward to church on Easter Sunday. After church when we lived in Utah we would go to brunch on one side of the family then dinner at the other and Easter egg hunts at both. Now we are ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with a trip to Target
I went to Target the other day (thankfully the closest Target is about 25 minutes away, so I don't go too often!) I was blown away by all of their pillows. I picked up the black and white stripe outdoor kidney pillow for our banquette and THIS bamboo planter basket. I could have gotten way more! I shared my favorite pillows below... 1- Kidney Stripe Pillow /// 2-Buffalo Check Pillow /// 3-Cream Polka Dot Pillow /// 4-Cream Fringe Kidney Pillow /// 5-Black and White Stripe Pillow /// 6-Ebony Fringe Pillow /// 7-Cream 24" Fringe Pillow I took the above picture the other night ... Daydream Wallpaper and the Legos
I shared a couple of pictures of our new wallpaper on Monday for my Spring Home Tour. I can't get over how much I like this wallpaper and how it really completes the room. I have been wanting to do something above the chalkboard wall since we painted it last year, actually since we moved in. It is a dormer ceiling and painting it with chalkboard paint felt too heavy and dark and wouldn't make sense to have chalkboard paint that high. We also have THIS temporary faux brick wallpaper on the other walls and the brick felt weird to put on the dormer and wouldn't make sense either. So I just left ... Read More
Connecticut Home Tour
Hello! This is our home in Fairfield, Connecticut. We lived here for 6 years and loved it! We picked this home because of the location, and knew we could make it better than before, and investment! Half a mile to the beach, or take a short walk into town, then hop on a train and in an hour you would be in New York City watching a play or eating somewhere yummy! The home was 1100 square feet, with an unfinished basement, that had all our storage, and laundry (basement couldn't ever be finished due to living in a flood zone). We remodeled and added on about 300 square feet (you can see our floor ... Read More
Connecticut Kitchen Remodel
Are you ready for picture overload? I am pretty excited about this new kitchen remodel! But first you need to see these before pictures of what it looked like right before we moved in January this year. You can also read about the remodel process HERE and where we have come from the past five weeks on this six week design challenge. It was pretty depressing being in that old kitchen. It felt dark, dated and dirty. I was already going through a big adjustment moving 2,000 miles away from family and friends that I love so much, so this kitchen didn't help ... Read More
