"How do you clean your outdoor cushions?" "Do your kids actually sit there to eat?" "How do you keep your light sofa cushions clean?" These are all questions I get daily or especially when I post a photo of our light colored sofas. I am here to help a sister out! Share what we use or do to try to keep everything looking clean and if they do have the accidents then how to get that said accident to disappear! Our outdoor sofa is a light fabric, both our indoor sofa's are light too and our banquette around our dining table. Yes, in person they are light and free from ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with New Fence and Memorial Day Sales
I didn't want to do an entire blog post all about our New Fence, not sure how many of you are interested! So I am including it on our Friday Favorites along with some major Memorial Day Sales! I wanted to share what our cedar fence looks like now it's up, why we picked this type of fence, where we put it and what we paid. I can not even tell you how much I LOVE this fence. This fence means safety for our wild inquisitive Finn. Also I feel the need to share this. The other night I was driving my daughter home from soccer. They have soccer practice in an area of our town that is not by Main ... Read More
Kids Bedroom Design Boards and Nursery Must-Haves
Sponsored post by West Elm I was excited to hear that West Elm has a collaboration with Pottery Barn Kids featuring baby and kids furniture! As you know I am a big online shopper and when I do help the occasional client West Elm and Pottery Barn are some of my go-to for sources. I put together three different Design Boards for kids bedrooms and a gender neutral nursery, I would actually use any of these myself or send to clients. I can't stress how important a design board is when starting to decorate a room. Just simply using a screen shot of the items you want to try in your space ... Read More
Small Space Living Series- Kitchen Cabinets and Organizing Tips
When we moved in these cabinets were a dark brown, not my favorite. We knew that there weren't many options for cabinet placement so we opted to just have the existing cabinets refaced and new doors put on. The reason for refacing rather than painting was the style needed to be updated. New molding, larger doors etc. What we did not do and should have done when we remodeled the kitchen was paint the inside of the cabinets. 3 years later it still felt unfinished. So for my Mother's Day gift to myself I started with one cabinet and bought all of the organizing things to really maximize this ... Read More

So exited to show you the reveal of our new white cedar impression siding! Finally a FULL exterior shot! We still have a few things to do around the back and a new fence, I will share later. We LOVE how it all turned out. And really love the cedar impressions. They look like real painted cedar! Very happy every time we drive up to our home. It feels like us. If you missed it I shared all the details on the cedar impressions along with pricing on THIS blog post. Let's first look at the BEFORE (what it looked like when we moved in)- We opted for no shutters. This was ... Read More
Painted Front Door Tips and our new PINK Door
I got an itch or a craving to paint our front door pink! Well actually it has been itching for a long time. But just recently we got new siding and the question came up if we wanted our black shutters put back up on our house. This might not seem like it relates to the front door but it does. I PERSONALLY like the front door and shutters to be the same color. We once had a navy door and navy shutters. Well, if I back up to the start when we bought this house the front door was hunter green with hunter green shutters. We painted the front door the navy and spray painted the shutters. Then ... Friday Favorites starts with Deck String Lights and Summer Essentials
Friday Favorites is a siding update along with some other favorite things! We have been busy putting things back together after our new Cedar Impressions were installed! The big question was if we should put our black vinyl shutters back up. Funny thing is I had not even thought about it until the installers asked me, rather than just putting it all back how it was. It is ALWAYS good to question (that coming from a born "Questioner"). So then I thought hmmmm, maybe I shouldn't! After much deliberation and help from a lot of you, we went with no shutters in the back! I will share tomorrow what ... Read More
How to Get the Curb Appeal of Five Different Homes
This post is sponsored by James Hardie. When we moved into our home 3 years ago, it was lacking curb appeal. Our home was built in the 1950's and not much was done to update the exterior and the interior for that matter. We quickly learned how a few simple changes can give some life and major curb appeal to the front of your home, which is probably what the majority of people in your community will ever see. I love the look of James Hardie Shingle Siding. I compiled 5 different ways to "Get the Look" of actual homes that used James Hardie. Tell me what look is your ... Read More
Small Space Living Series- 800 Square Foot- A-Frame Home
I think that this little A-Fram from Insieme House was one of the first "Small Spaces" I found on Instagram. I was was happy to have found someone sharing ideas for Small Space Living and with MAJOR style. I love how Astrid maximizes their outdoor space during all the seasons, key to making Small Spaces and entertaining mix! I also love her answers to the rapid fire questions at the end, talking about how living in a smaller space forces you to be pretty tidy all the time. I have to say I have noticed that too- everything has a place and the family all knows where that place is. I hope ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with New Rug
We finally did it. I hate to admit how many hours I probably spend scrolling thru different rug options. You know, the jute rug, the "throw-up rug" poor Finn got sick on it and I ruined it trying to clean it. I was just going to order the same rug again but Kevin informed me the jute rug wasn't his favorite (WHAT??) and wanted one with "more color". Honestly I really like that he said that. I think it't cute that he likes the color in our home and cares about his surroundings. He really liked the one we had in here originally (the navy one) but I didn't love the navy right off of the black ... Read More
