This is kind-of a Friday Favorites! Who remembers when I did those? Did you like them? I stopped into a local store- Urban Outfitters to be exact…I had a couple things to return. I had ordered a sweatshirt and a swimsuit- both cute, but not cute on me. I actually love looking at their home decor, especially online. I had never really shopped in their store. I found some treasures!!! I did get a set of 3 baskets that looked like display and took about an hour for them to figure out how to ring me up for them. I almost left, but glad I hung in for it, because I got them for 70% off, about $10 ... Read More
Large Family Room Makeover- How to not get Overwhelmed
I am often asked questions about how to make a large family room feel more cozy and what to do with expansive blank walls to make a home feel homey. This obviously isn't a problem in my 1100 square foot cape, but my friend recently moved into a home with a large, over-the-garage bonus room. Not only was the 800 square foot family room ENORMOUS, it was not really functional for her family and she said that it often felt like a giant waste since no one really wanted to spend time up there!! Can anyone else relate to a large family room?? I have some tips for you~ How to not ... Read More
5 Simple Ways to Transform a Bedroom
Ready to transform your bedroom? Or just see a master bedroom I transformed for a friend?! Wish I could fly to each of your homes and transform them (only the people who wanted me to, obviously). So my friend, Molly reached out to me last summer to help her with her bedroom. And look how fast we are….a year later!! She does live 2,000 miles away from me and just had a baby (my kind of person "whenever you can get it it!"). After transforming her bedroom she told me how much she loved it and she also had a deeper reason for loving it, which is why I say I transformed her bedroom. She told me ... Read More

Grandkid Bunk Room
Hello from Utah! We are here enjoying summer with the kids and family. Lots of things to do and see. My kids keep me super busy and I don't have my handsome, helpful Kevin around, so I slow down on the blog. But today I have a really fun Grandkid Bunk Room Makeover that I helped my Mother-in-law do. She actually did most of the labor. I created a design plan for her a couple months ago and she implemented it. So it is kind-of fun to see how it can successfully be done with a design plan and some Marco Polo videos! Let's look at the before of the bedroom- Grandkid Bunk Bed Room ... Read More
July 4th SALES- Target Outdoor, Rugs and More!
Happy 4th of July!!! Very thankful for the land that we live in. We went on a 7 mile hike the other night in the mountains of Utah and we just kept saying over and over "wow, it is so beautiful". Just so thankful that we can decide to go on a hike and feel safe in the country we live in to do so. We do have a little more time here in Utah and I have some makeovers I will be sharing with you next week, very excited to share those (still waiting on a few things to arrive). So I was just shopping for some home decor finishing pieces and noticed that a lot of my favorite places to shop have July ... Read More
15 Ways to Be Thrifty and Conserve the Planet with Printable!
Let's get this out there. I am not perfect in any of these ways in conserving the planet. But being aware has made me start to make changes. I read a quote on Instagram and can't find it now. But it went along the lines of "Don't shame the person who stopped buying plastic water bottles but still forgets her reusable grocery bags." If you are making any of these steps to conserve the planet you are doing awesome!!! I started this list because I get asked daily over on Instagram "what was that laundry detergent that doesn't have plastic??" So I thought a blog post was in order (BTW- it is ... Read More
8 of HIS Summer Favorite Things
We just got to Utah for a couple of weeks. All of our family still lives here and a lot of friends. The kids are so pumped to be here. Sadly Kevin doesn't come. He has work and it is hard to leave in the middle of the soccer season (he works for Major League Soccer). So before we left for a long time Kevin and I snuck away for a little date. We took our new blow-up kayaks to the beach and tried them out! I had given Kevin a blow-up paddle board a couple years ago and it worked great, so we gave the kayaks a try. It was super foggy, so we didn't do our bucket-list item of going to the ... Read More

When to Fertilize Plants and Repotting Houseplants
I LOVE houseplants. I look around my house and majority of my home decor is a houseplant. Houseplants never go out of style. Being in the design industry since I was 15 years old I think I am a little jaded, honestly I just got tired of things quicker. But not my houseplants. It brings me so much joy to see new growth because of the care I put into a houseplant. It is like a child learning something new, but like 99% easier than teaching a child something new. Ha! One of the most asked questions I have been getting lately is "Do you fertilize your houseplants?" So I thought I would write a ... Read More
