I had so much help from all of you over on Instagram with the decision of a new Playset! We wanted to get our kids a Playset for Easter. First I just want to say, I know a Playset it a pretty big Easter gift. But we really don't do a lot of Christmas gifts, especially since we are typically in Utah. This was a big purchase that we saved up for and really put a lot of time and consideration into. It is more of a family purchase we were wanting to make anyways. With all that said, I did jut think of the idea about a week before Easter...a little late. Call it wishful thinking, being able to find ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with Mother’s Day Gift Guide
I figured I would combine my Friday Favorites with Mother's Day Gift Guide, because let's face it these are my favorite things. If you don't have a mother alive, I am sorry for that. And I am aware of you. If you are wanting to be a mother and are not yet, I am aware of you too. I know Mother's Day can be a sensitive day. So hopefully this gift guide can just be some fun ideas of gifts for anyone or better yet, yourself! My mom was just in town and we LOVE having her. She spends quality time with each of the kids and makes mounds of her crepes that the kids request as soon as she ... Read More
WAY DAY- 24 Hour Wayfair Sale- TODAY!
If you have been following my blog you know that I am a Wayfair fan. I love the variety of things they offer at a variety of prices. I refer to them often for clients and personally a lot of pieces in our home are from them. Today they are offering something new, a big One Day Sale called Way Day. It is their version of a Black Friday but in the Spring because they know that is when most of us are shopping for our homes and focusing a lot on Outdoor Furniture and Accessories. I went through their website and picked out some of my favorite Outdoor Pieces and Everyday Items to share ... Read More
Small Space Living Mini Series- Kitchen Edition
As part of our Small Space Living Series I want to do a smaller series on just kitchens! Really this is my favorite room to see in homes. Kitchens are the heart of the home and really still can be in smaller homes. We are peeking into Nicole Dingle's kitchen! They are living in a 1100 square foot home and guaranteed you would not guess it by looking at this kitchen! They were very smart when they remodeled to open it up and make the most use of the space and to allow more storage. Love how open it feels and the painted white brick that was original to the home! So ... Read More
How we hung our Deck String Lights, Privacy Screen and Artwork Outside
Sharing how we hung our String Lights or rather our Deck Lights today. I am a accent lighting fanatic! We live in a 1950's home that really hasn't had any major updates to the exterior besides the small ascetic things we have done. So you aren't going to find an outlet outside. If you are building a new home- this is where you make a mental note to add a plug in several spots outside. The plug issue wasn't going to stop me from having a glowing strand of String Lights off our back deck. Also added a privacy screen that I will share the details on this post too! Disclaimer- this is what WE ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with S’more Sticks, Pillow Inserts and Answers!
Hello! I have a bunch of random favorites from the week and answers to favorite questions I got from you! I thought it would be fun to compile them all here. And I am very excited my mom is coming into town tonight to stay for the weekend and Finn's birthday, he turns 2! If you have been a reader here I bet that has flown by for you as well. We are planning on going into the city to Black Tap Craft. We went last year and the girls think it is tradition. They have milkshakes that are huge- one was called tootie fruity and had a whole pop tart sticking out of the top and licorice (kind of ... Read More
Rug Options and Where I go for Rugs
I must admit I am kind-of a rug snob. I blame it on my design background and working in a high-end design store. I worked for a design firm for 18 years. I was the store buyer and manager for about 8 of those years. Part of my job was to go to markets and meet with the vendors and manufacturers of the products we were buying. I got to see the process of a sofa made from start to finish, starting with the fabric design process and manufacturing. I also got to see how rugs are made. And since I bought for a high-end store I wouldn't even look at machine made rugs or synthetic materials. Now ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with a Trip to Target
I stopped into Target the other day to quickly see the new Opalhouse line that everyone was talking about. I really am aware and don't want my blog to be about buying more or getting more. If you are not in the position or don't have the need for new home decor items, I think there is still value in seeing what is new. My hope is that you might look at what you already have and think of how to display it differently or it will give you fresh set of eyes for your home. Spring is all about a refresh, growth and excitement! I am personally inspired just walking around my favorite shops and seeing ... Read More
Small Space Living Series- 1152 Square Feet with Sixty Fifth Avenue
Today we are peeking into the home of Londen who shares her home over on Sixth Fifth Avenue on Instagram. They are a family of three living in an 1152 square foot 1940's home in Chicago. They have two bedrooms and 1 1/2 bathrooms. I really enjoyed seeing how Londen maximized all their small spaces and so beautifully and simply. That is what really caught my eye, she has nice pieces that make a statement. In small homes a lot of little things can feel overwhelming, I am constantly working on that in our small spaces. Notice how she uses real plants as the decor, my favorite way ... Read More
Upstairs Bathroom Remodel- The Reveal!
I am very excited to share our bathroom makeover with you! We have been able to use it the past couple weeks and can't believe how much more we enjoy it. If you remember when I shared the design plans, I talked about how our contractor insisted that we keep our vanity a certain size (this was not a code reason) just because he thought it would be to tight. I listened and I should have looked into it more. It was three years ago and we were just in a hurry, trying to get both bathrooms in working order. I am very happy that we invested in marble honey comb floors and beveled edge subway tile. ... Read More
