This is another first for the blog! I have never done a dining room makeover before! And I really love the idea of a dining room, I think I just like separated space, feels very charming to me. This dining room belongs to my friend Brenda. I met her at our local CrossFit and became friends there. If you remember the entry makeover I did recently, that was her space too. So as you can imagine, the domino effect went into place! I first suggested she change out her lighting! She could have painted the furniture she had, if she didn't have the budget to get all new. But she had some money ... Read More

Favorite Outdoor Pots- How to Drill a Hole
Let's talk about planters! I just don't get why ALL outdoor planters don't come with holes in the bottom! Anyone else?? Unless your pots are under a covered porch or patio they need holes. If you don't haul your planters to safety if the rain comes your plants will be swimming! I know this. And still lost a plant the other day. So let's fix this! It is really easy. You just need a drill. And I am linking up some of my favorite planters too…. Outdoor Pots- Click on a link to shop pots- (and no worry if there isn't a hole!) Laundry Room Makeover with Tempaper Removable Wallpaper and Painted Laminate
I haven't ever made over a laundry room before! Isn't that crazy? Our laundry room is in our un-finished basement, that will never be finished (flood zone). So I thought offering a laundry room makeover to a friend would be a fun way to share something new with you! Personally I LOVE a good laundry room, I am always saving photos of laundry room inspiration and laundry room ideas for my dream laundry room (one day!). So I was ready to take on this space. With any makeover I always start with an inspiration piece, in this space it was the removable wallpaper. This laundry room makeover was fun ... Read More
Creating Design Boards and Our Current Projects
We have a lot of projects in the works right now! I thought it would be fun to share all the design plans we have going. Because honestly they take up a lot of my tome to create! Also wanted to (again) show important it is for any room transformation to do a design board or mood board or design plan. Whatever you call it. It is all the same. A plan to get you going towards your vision. You might think "what if you don't have a vision?" Well you have to start somewhere! Find an inspiration piece then go from there. It could be a room you found on Pinterest or Instagram. It could be wallpaper ... Read More
12 Things You Might not NEED but Want!
This post idea came after I shared the blog post "10 Things You Can Do Without!" Someone asked me what are 10 things that you might not really need but think people should have. How fun is that? Both are fun, but if you like to shop you might like this blog post a little more! Ha! These are all items that I personally own and a lot of them I have shared about before and were big hits so I thought they needed to be included on this list. 12 Things You Might Want, but don't NEED- First I asked all of YOU what is something you want but might not need- Robot or Rumba Vacuum (I don't own ... Mother’s Day Gift Guide!
I took a poll over on my Instagram, asking what you all want for Mother's Day! Or want to give to a Mother in your life. First of all, I do want to acknowledge that some of us may want to be mothers and haven't had the chance yet. We are aware of you. I linked to an article at the end of this post about how we as women can support and help those mothers who feel lost and unnoticed. Hopefully everyone will find this gift guide helpful in one way or another. I thought it was just fun to read what others want!!! I was cracking up at how similar SO many of the comments were. I posted your comments ... Read More
4 Design Lessons I Have Learned in My Home
I was going to title this blog post- "4 Design Mistakes I have Made". I actually think "mistakes" might be kind-of harsh. So I called it,"Four Design Lessons I have learned"! There is nothing to be embarrassed about with learning. For me the only way to learn and get better is through trial and error. And I still continue to learn about design daily, just through moving things around in our home. From getting the right curtain rods to how many accessories is too many. When I get asked- "how did you learn how to design", it was honestly through practice! I started at a high-end design store ... Read More
Exterior Curb Appeal-New Roof and Back Door
We have been slowly updating the exterior of our home and adding some much needed curb appeal. It has come a long way from when we bought our home 4 years ago. The exterior did not match what I knew it could be. Often the exterior of your homes is often the only thing people see. I wanted to contribute to the feel and esthetic of our awesome neighborhood. We did change the front porch from the metal posts and railing about 6 months living in ur home and we also changed the walk-up. Then next we changed the siding to white shake shingles and just recently change the roof! Let's look at the ... Read More
