Thank you Walmart for sponsoring this post I had maybe 1,000 responses when I asked "What do you want as a guest". And after reading all your responses I feel like I need to apologize to previous guests! I did pretty well but there were some essential things that I missed having in our guest room. Even if you don't have a dedicated guest room there are things you can do to any space to make it comfortable for your guests to stay over. But some did say to make it slightly uncomfortable so guests don't stay too long! ha! Or one sweet reader said "just grandkids"! ❤️ I actually ... Read More

One of our Best Home Purchases! Our New Door Knobs- Automatic Locks
I wasn't going to do a full blog post on our new automatic locks, but we love them so much they needed a little post! I think there is a stigma around automatic door locks- that they are ugly. There I said it. I have thought that too. I actually didn't want to put the automatic lock on our front door because everyone would see that door the most! But after I found the locks we went with it didn't matter where they went- they look awesome! Automatic locks are now one thing I would say is one of our best home purchases. I know many of you would agree with that statement! There it ... Read More
Changes to our Front Room-Fireplace Plan
I really hope this works out. Do you ever start a project with that sentence? Because we really love this idea that I saw and thought it would be perfect for our small front room. We are going to add a fireplace! An electric fireplace. With a full brick surround and wood mantle. Eeekkkk! I am so excited! When we moved into this home 3 years ago I looked into adding a fireplace and it was over 5,000 to do it. And not to mention we would have to add gas to our home to get a gas fireplace. Which would be nice, but not ready to fully commit to this house. So very excited to attempt this electric ... Read More
Cleaning Schedule- Free Printable and our new Vacuum
Thank you eBay for sponsoring this post This post has been a long time coming! I regularly get asked what my cleaning schedule looks like and how I keep my home tidy. Or I get the question "does your home always look clean?" It honestly is clean and put together most of the time. The only time it is a mess is when I am baking, cooking or in the middle of a project. The kids are really good about cleaning up after their projects or playing too. We don't start something new until we clean up. I used to say it is because we live in a small house, if it is a mess there is no where to go! But ... Read More

My 10 and 7 year old girls actually make these cookies in our house. Happy to pass the torch onto them. Finn, who is two is almost there. We make these pumpkin cookies so many different ways. Organizing Challenge and Printable- Organizing By Numbers
I got asked the question from our last organizing challenge, "How many of this do you have?" From cups to clothes. It really is a very interesting topic to discuss. Don't you think? I thought this entire question could be our Organizing Challenge. Because really it comes down to the big secret to organizing...OWN LESS! If you own less it is easier to organize your items. I read a quote somewhere that said the best way to organize your stuff is to get rid of most of it. Seems extreme but really the less we own the less we have to do! Anyone else notice that? My mother-in-law lives ... Read More

DIY 20 Cent Wall Hanging for your “Don’t Go For Perfection”
My motto is "Don't go for perfection, go for better than before!" This is how I get things accomplished without fear or doubt. I shared this idea after we painted our shed black and receiving a few comments, saying they didn't like it black or telling me things they didn't like. I really don't think everyone loves everything I share. But when I personally started to question if I liked it after those comments, I thought, you know what, there is nothing to be ashamed of. It is 100% Better than Before! I wasn't going for the perfect shed in the world. Or even one that all my blog ... Read More
