Nesting With Grace

Triplet Guest Room- Purple Walls and Green Wallpaper- Cozy Cottage Aesthetic

This is our guest room with three twin beds, our “triplet room”! We love having space for guests. My dream is to own a motel, airbnb or really any space for a lot of guests. We are getting a lot of practice with guests in our guest room! We finished this guest room about a year and a half ago and recently decided to add beadboard that we painted purple and green wallpaper above the beadboard. Layered in some cozy quilts that give it a cozy cottage aesthetic.

Cozy Cottage Guest Bedroom-

Here is our cozy cottage triplet guest room! It has had many guests stay in this room, and the girls love to have sleepovers in here. We had the rattan beds as the girls beds in our Connecticut home, I was so happy to have a place to put the beds in this house, just had to order one more. Sharing all the details on this room below.

Wallpaper Board and Batten and Paint-

We painted the trim and doors a year ago in Sugared Almond Farrow & Ball. This week we added the bead board, and painted it in the same purple color. Then added this green stripe wallpaper over the top. Fun color combo!
We hung the boardboard 5′ from the floor. We used these sheets of beadboard and cut to size.
On one wall we put these wood pegs into the trim, perfect place for guests to hang bags and coats.

Beds and Bedding-

As I mentioned we used these cute rattan beds as our starting off point. We had simple white bedding on the bed with fun gingham sheets. White bedding is a great bedding base, that way we can add different blankets and pillows for different seasons. See what we did for fall….
Only thing we changed was added this Autumn Floral Quilt and Autumn Floral Shams. Really love the colors! Easy seasonal swap.
Below are all the items I used to make this cozy bed!
  • Mattress Pad– this mattress pad is a must for a guest room, and it is waterproof! “Ultra-thin waterproof barrier sits between two layers of soft cotton jersey ensuring a quiet and restful sleep while repelling liquids and stains”
  • Sheets- Gingham Organic– comes in three colors. I did just use the fitted sheet, no top sheet because it is harder to make on this twin bed. I do lay out a twin top sheet on the bed when guests come incase they want it.
  • White Duvet Cover– this is a classic look!!!! Highly recommend this duvet, you will love for years!
  • Duvet Insert- Extra Warmth– this is my favorite insert!!! Nothing else can make your bed as full and fluffy!
  • Autumn Floral Quilt– LOVE this quilt!!! It is a great way to change up your bed seasonally.
  • Autumn Floral Shams– Another easy swap seasonally, I had a white euro sham that I swapped for the autumn quilt for fall, and winter.
  • Decorative Sham Insert- Firm– this sham looks best for the decorative pillows you want extra full
  • Euro Insert- Firm– only insert I use for euro shams, I go with the firm

TV and Dresser-

This dresser moved with us from our Connecticut house, it is a nice dresser with funky hardware. We hung a Frame TV (with this frame) over the dresser, as a place to cozy up and watch a movie.
Dresser is also a great place for a plant to hide the TV cord and a diffuser for sleep support and makes the room smell soooo good without worrying about a candle in the room.

Lighting-

We have this semi-flush mount light in here, pulls out the touch of gray/blue in the wallpaper.
We just hung these plug-in sconces, to act as lamps since there isn’t a lot for space for a traditional lamp. I hid the cord with this wall cord hider and painted it to match the walls. We also used an outdoor ceramic table as a nightstand, I wanted to be able to sleep more people rather than have large nightstands.

Art and Gallery Wall-

I hung art that pulled in the colors of the rug and bedding over each bed and a few other spots in the room.

    Love this! Do you mind sharing what you do with the color on the outside door facing the hallway? If the inside door is painted purple do you paint the hallway facing side that color too and how do you have a cohesive look in the hallway?
