We just had our two new ceiling fans installed in the upstairs bedrooms of our cape. I love the retro feel and how modern these ceiling fans look. Come see them both and shop some of my favorites!

Hello! Happy Friday! If you are looking for an easy DIY project to attempt this weekend I have the perfect one for you. You have seen this string art before in my daughters bedroom. I created a Christmas one- and had a little #fail along the way. Come see the one that didn’t make the cut and my favorite string art designs I found on Pinterest!
I have blogged about our master bedroom more times than is probably “normal.” Every time that I have shared our master bedroom you have never seen the ceiling. It is always strategically cropped out. That is because I was hiding a secret. The ceiling was bad. But now is the day you get to see the ceiling in all it’s glory- be excited. And a new ceiling leads to new bedding- rug- lighting, you know the drill. Come see the big reveal.
I follow Annie from Zevjoy on Instagram and am so inspired by all her DIY projects and her gorgeous photography. She is known for her simple, natural and easy way of designing and she does it all on a budget. I asked Annie to share her recent update she just did to her son’s bedroom for my Kids Space Series on my blog. You are going to love her ideas…especially the way she transformed her sons baby dresser.
I was thinking the other day if we move from this house if I would paint our bedroom walls dark again. I think that I would! I like feeling like a bear in a cave in our 10’x13′ bedroom. I am drawn to bedrooms with dark walls. Especially with light bedding for a nice contrast and to keep it from feeling dreary. I rounded up my favorite dark painted bedrooms from some of my favorite bloggers for some inspiration for you!
When I saw Ashlea from This is Mamas Dance sons shared bunk bedroom my jaw dropped! I love the bunkbeds that she built with her husband. My favorite is the vintage lockers and all the charm and personal touches she put into their room. This bedroom will give you design ideas for your entire home. It is a must see.
I am so excited to be sharing our home for Simply Summer Home tour hosted by Nina Hendrick and Country Living. This week 29 other bloggers have been inviting us into their homes to show us some fresh summer updates. I love seeing where people live and how they make their environment comfortable and inspiring to them. I will share a lot of our home and simple changes I make for one of my favorite seasons. Including one of my favorite things, new wallpaper!
I love anything that Cami shares on her blog Tidbits. I first noticed her kitchen then fell in love with the rest of her home. That included her daughters shared bedroom. I wanted to get the full scoop and share it for my column I write for Everything Home Magazine on kids spaces.
I get asked often on my Instagram account if we own a TV. We actually do, we have one in our family room upstairs. They girls normally watch maybe a 20 minute show a day. We just aren’t in the habit of watching it. We love music on and creating. I thought I would share some of things my girls have been loving this past month and a few things I love too. Hopefully to inspire more creativity in the home and also great gift ideas.
We are thrilled to be welcoming our baby boy soon into this world. We had been trying to have another baby for close to two years and I found out the most unexpected way we were finally pregnant. As I type this I am exactly 38 weeks. Getting closer and the anticipation of seeing his little face and wondering how it will all happen is just beyond exciting. Thankful we don’t have to worry about finishing his bedroom, it is complete and I am excited to share it with you…
With my other two babies I used a bassinet for about 2-3 months. In our other home our master bedroom was further away from the nursery so it made sense to have a bassinet. This time the nursery is pretty close to the master, basically I could lay in bed and touch the other room, maybe exaggerating a little, but honestly it is like 10 steps away. I spent some time looking at bassinets. These were my favorites and also I couldn’t help myself I bought one, keep reading to see how it looks in our master bedroom.
