STALL IKEA HACK- Small Space Solution in our Kitchen
I think you are going to love the AFTER of this little space in our kitchen! I added a small IKEA cabinet here and a gold sconce! This post is for you if you are looking for a great storage solution or just want to see what we keep in this space! Head to the post HERE.
DESIGN QUESTION-
“So it’s hard to get a good pic of this space. It’s always felt awkward. I’ve had it laid out in every possible way. This layout is my hubby’s fave. The things I don’t care for…the fact that there’s no privacy from the front door. And the sofa floating sometimes makes it feel a little cluttered to me. The armoire creates like a “wall” without blocking off the room. That we like. And fills that awkward corner. I guess I’d just like to pic your brain. What would you do with this space?”
MY SUGGESTION-
(I thought my readers would like to see this cute space and the smart things you have done!)
Love the sofa floating too, it defines the space and separates the entry. The sofa also faces the focal point- the nice entertainment center. The armoire in the entry is a great idea. My only really tip I can give is you could paint the armoire white so it doesn’t feel so large and such a focal point. It would blend into the space and be more architectural!

One question I have gotten from several readers is “How do I make my home cozy??”
I gave 4 simple tips that I think anyone can easily apply.
Also added another video from my Instagram Stories when I styled our bookcases in our front room- they are super cozy and I hope the video helps you! BTW- we keep our wireless printer in the cupboard below the open bookcase and a ton of books that we don’t want displayed right now- it is OK to not have every book you own in your bookcase!
I snapped this grainy- imperfect picture when my home was feeling super cozy and imperfect. I think that is the key to remember- cozy is NOT perfect!

DIY Sconces to have Light without Power “Magic Light Trick”
Alright I finally shared the “Magic Light Trick” today! How we made the sconce’s glow and have some light without hardwiring them or being connected to any electrical source in the nursery we just designed. I loved my idea:) haha and duplicated it in our home.
Below is the BEFORE of our window seat- notice that scroll header?? Well if you haven’t seen on social media yet- it is now gone! And I added a sconce to this spot!

How to Build a Window Seat and Built-In Bookcase Tutorial
Today I am sharing the full tutorial on how too build a window seat and built-in book shelves! As you know we have a banquette in our kitchen (just like this window seat) I even watched part of it be built and it still seemed hard. But after working on this nursery I am shocked at how easy this was! Honestly.
Really I look at homes so differently now! Every home needs a window seat.
And you will be surprised at what it cost to build this entire wall!! I shared a video of all my Instagram Stories at the end of the post too.

Lego Storage Solution- Before and After of our Lego “Room”
Today I am sharing our solution to the Lego’s! WAIT- before you say “I don’t have Lego’s”… I know you might not have Legos’s in YOUR home. But this is a story about maximizing your space. Using each area in your home to it’t full potential for you and your families needs.
I almost didn’t do this because we know we are for sure not going to live in this house forever and who knows how much longer. It turned out to be a great solution for a deep closet.
Hope you make it over to the blog today.
***On Wednesday I am going to share how I keep all the papers organized that flow into our tiny house. Let me know if there is something specific you want me to cover in that post?? Just reply to this email or leave me a comment on today’s blog post.
