Have you experienced decision fatigue? Decision fatigue is basically the mental strain from making choices. We make hundreds of choices everyday from what to eat, to larger decisions with finances, health and more. I hear from a lot of you who say you just can’t make a decision with home decor, so you do nothing. I have a simple tip for you to make it easy and help you create a cozy home!

My biggest tip to eliminate decision fatigue, and eliminate nothing being done to our homes, is to repeat a really good choice. In our home we repeated the same blue curtains from Homerilla (keep reading for coupon code) throughout our home, it instantly created a cohesive, cozy look! Repeating something throughout our home doesn’t mean it has to be boring!

I helped a client remodel an 8,000 sq foot home, there were a lot of decisions to be made. When it came time to pick the tile for all the bathrooms, I suggested we go with the same timeless, classic tile on all the floors, showers and counters. Not only does it still look great, 10 years later, it eliminated so much time spent trying to pick different things. Each bathroom looks unique because of the accessories we used from the towels to the art.

Yes, white curtains would make for an easy decision, and often white is the right choice. But selecting a color on curtain panels is a better choice, and a color can feel more like a neutral than a stark white. We went with Pale Blue Aqua linen curtains (with Blackout205 lining, and Double French Pleat), which look neutral in our home! I have a discount code NTWG13 for 13% off.

We had curtains on our front door, and just swapped them so they matched the rest of the curtains that are on our main floor. I love the cohesive look. Plus curtains around a door are just adorable, they look so good and unique.

We also added the same curtains over our washer and dryer in the laundry nook to our bedroom. The pinch pleats and rings make it glide so easily and look really look nice.

I typically hang our curtain rod 5-8″ above the window. I like my curtains to be hung higher than the window, but also not too high that there is a large empty wall between the top of the window and curtain rod. We hung the rod 10′ to the side of the window in our family room. Hanging your curtains off the window makes the window look bigger and doesn’t block any of the window when curtains are open.

Another place we added curtains was in our home office. I wasn’t sure curtains would look good in here, and the room doesn’t need curtains for privacy. After we installed them though, it gave the room height and honestly made the room look finished!

The curtains are custom linen, in Pale Blue Aqua, french pleated and also have blackout lining (Blackout205 lining, and Double French Pleat). The pleated panels also come with adjustable clips and rings to hang. Blackout curtains have room-darkening features built into the fabric, they are perfect for bedrooms, but I like them in my other spaces! They make for a consistent look when they are partially covering the window.

Homerilla has an easy process of ordering custom curtains. Homerilla can maintain lower prices, with their in-house seamstresses. Plus the fabrics are all Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified (they don’t have any dangerous substances and work well together with the surroundings).

I shared on this post how we added curtains to our family room. We still love them and say how much they added to the room. The curtains in there are on a really long curtain rod, and the rings have to slide over the brackets if we ever close them. Get all the details on what we used HERE.

The same curtains are in our bedroom, and still love them too! Shop Homerilla– code NTWG13 for 13% off. I hope that helped you fight the decision fatigue!
