Finn’s bedroom has been the room that has basically stayed exactly how I styled it when we moved in after our remodel 3 years ago. Still love it all! We call it the “green grass room” because it had green carpet when we bought this 1970’s home. We kept the rug green as a sweet reminder to what it was and his comment.
Finn Bedroom Before-

You can tell they had major style when this room was designed! Bold and full of color, which I love. But it hadn’t been changed since 1970, it was time. We picked this room for Finn because it is a good size (about 13’x11′), has great lighting, and is by our bedroom.
Finn Bedroom After-

Finn LOVES his room! Kevin said it is his favorite room too. We added Board and Batten, and by we I mean we had our finish contractor add it. He did such a nice job!! He also added shiplap to the ceilings. The floors are the same wood that we have throughout our entire home, European Oak from Opus in Acropolis. We have a tutorial on Board and Batten and spacing etc HERE.
Finn Bedroom Sources-

Arch Mirror // To the Moon and Back Art // Schoolhouse Ceiling Light // Dresser // Horse art // Moon Art //
Gold curtain panels // Radar Sconces // Ukulele Holder // Ukulele // Upholstered Bed // Hudson Bay Blanket //
Nightstands // Floor Mirror // Upholstered Bed (he has full) // Cheetah Rug (he has 8×10) // Hamper // Stool
Finn Paint Color-

The walls are painted in Farrow and Ball Off- Black, in a matte finish. Since we had a painter, he did match it to where he regularly get’s his paint. I did have a sample I gave him. You can find samples here. When you match paint it isn’t going to be exact, but I do love how it turned out. The trim and ceilings are all All White, again from Farrow and Ball.

Close up of Finn’s green cheetah rug, it looks so much better than online! Happy with it!!
More Photo’s of Finn’s Room-

The swivel rocking chair I got when Ella was a baby! It has a slipcover that we can easily wash it. It was from Lee Industries, really quality piece of furniture that shows it has held up for years and years!

Meet Sasha, she is thriving! He has had her about two years!

The dresser was actually the girls dresser in our Connecticut house! It matches his nightstands, but the dresser is in the white washed finish. The ship light was a vintage find!
Bedding-

Gahhhhhh, this bed! As soon as I saw it I knew it was for Finn. It is a statement piece and a timeless piece that we will have and use forever. It is a full size, there were several reasons why I went with a full. I wanted him to have enough room on the floor to play with his toys and plenty of space for two nightstands.
Making of the Bed Source-

- Mattress Pad Cooling– this mattress protector is also cooling and has a fiber fill for gentle cushion.
- Mattress Protector – this mattress pad is waterproof! “Ultra-thin waterproof barrier sits between two layers of soft cotton jersey ensuring a quiet and restful sleep while repelling liquids and stains”
- Mattress– we have all Green Guard Certified mattresses, read all about them here!
- 2″ Mattress Pad– I like this mattress pad as an option if you don’t love your mattress and don’t want to buy a new mattress. 2-inch mattress pad designed to add a little extra comfort to help relief pressure points like hips and shoulders.
- Duvet Insert- Extra Warmth– this is my favorite insert!!! Nothing else can make your bed as full and fluffy! I love that it is organic too.
- Decorative Sham Insert- Firm– this sham looks best for the decorative pillows you want extra full
- Decorative Euro Insert- Firm– only insert I use for euro shams, I go with the firm
- Sleeping Pillow Adjustable– my favorite pillow to sleep on! I love that it is toxic-free, green guard certified. Also that you can easily adjust it to fit how you like to sleep.
- Sleeping Pillow Foam– My kids like this one because of the height and not to firm or too soft feel. Also green-guard certified.

Latest change are these animal print sheets, and checkered duvet cover!

Vintage map and vintage pennants, mixed with some new from recent travels places we have been.
Finn’s Closet-

Finn has so many cute projects he brings home, they are all a work of art! So in an effort to not have hundreds of pieces of art, taped to the wall, we have these cork board strips hung to the back of his door to push pin his favorite items on.

I love the cork strips on the door idea– I am going to use that for our sons room! Thank you for sharing!!
