I SO wish I had a before of this closet I recently updated. First of all it is nice that we even have a closet in our tiny bathroom, any storage we can get in our little cape is so appreciated. But…it was NOT functional. This closet is in our upstairs bathroom. Our girls use this bathroom and also share it when guests come. I wanted to give it a little more life. I love adding a little bit of character in unexpected places.
Since I do not have a before photo of just the closet, this is what the bathroom looked like before. You can get a pretty good idea of what the closet would have looked like. Dark brown paint is not the best paint choice in a bathroom.
This is what it looks like today!
The closet is behind the bathroom entry door. It had bifold doors that opened from the right- making it really hard to get into. I immediately took off the doors. The shelves were also half the depth of the closet because the bifold doors needed room to fold in. We had shelves made that were double the size. We just removed the others and slide the new ones in to replace them. It was very easy.
I love the extra storage space so much. It is the best place to store towels. I like to keep all of the guest towels in this closet. Then the towels for my girls under the vanity.
We recently got new towels from Christy Linens. I have wanted new towels for such a long time. Towels are something that are not always on the top of the list, but when you get new towels you realize you should have gotten them sooner! Especially when they are Egyptian cotton bath sheet, have you used a bath sheet before? I don’t think I can ever go back to a regular size towel now! You can find my exact towels HERE.
White towels are my favorite, they feel like you are at a spa. I did add these new dove grey towels from Christy Linens in the mix. I like how it balances on the metal vintage crates I have.
The wallpaper I used was very easy to apply. I actually just used a staple gun to apply it to the wall. I did three staples on the top and then hide the rest behind the shelves. My wallpaper is from Milton and King, you can find my exact paper HERE.
I also added the same wallpaper to some frames I had. I love the dimension it adds to the shelves. I tried to keep the shelves pretty simple. They are stocked with items that guests would need when they visit. Towels, extra toilet paper, q-tips, cotton balls, epson salt for baths and an extra basket on the bottom for used towels. I used THESE metal locker bins that I spray painted white for storage.
I added the framed wallpaper to this spot in the bathroom as well. The wallpaper goes so well with the beach feel the bathroom has. You can see more of this bathroom HERE.

Shawn you are so sweet! I appreciate your comments so much:)
Hi! This is your small-home-loving stalker! Gosh, I could virtual tour your home every day & NEVER get tired of doing so!! I LOVE your home & your MAD decorating skills SO MUCH!! You are such a talent & I never get tired of telling you THANK YOU for showing people how lovely & how comfortably you can live in a small sq-footage home! : ) But today, I just wanted to tell you that I, too, am a white towel girl & you name it, I’ve tried it (brand-wise). But, the ones I & my family have truly loved the most are the Nate Berkus ones from Target! I don’t believe they are Egyptian Cotton, but they are a thick & lush cotton & after a wash or two, they really absorb well and remain soft & lush. They also come in the bath sheets!
I am SO flattered! I cant believe I have a stalker:) hehe! I appreciate your sweet words!
Well anything Nate Berkus is amazing, he is a genius! Have a good week!

May I ask where the white mirror came from? I checked your original post but didn’t see it listed.

Thank you so much! I appreciate that:) It was from Hooker Furniture and I bought it on clearance- they are discontinued. Bummer!
