Our Home in Better Homes & Gardens Christmas Ideas 2024 and Most Popular Christmas Decor

Well this is the earliest I have ever talked about Christmas! But our home was just featured in Better Homes & Gardens Christmas Ideas 2024 issue! In celebration of the release I put together a video for Instagram of our home at Christmas time, and rounded up all the most popular Christmas items I shared last year. It was a joy to be featured, and included in this magazine. Photographer Adam Albright, and the Magazine Editor, Nicole Dean came to our home the first week in December of 2023 to get all the photos, then writer, Kelsey Lepperd called me for a phone interview. I have been featured in other magazines and sometimes they move things around and bring in other decor, this Christmas issue they took all the photos as is. And to answer a popular question, no, we don’t get paid to be in the magazine, it is more for advertisement and an honor to be recognized!

I went maximalist on the faux cedar garland last year! Added taper candles for a vintage look! Lot’s of garland mantle ideas and how I layered my 10 garlands in this post!
I ended up adding these berry drop lights and a couple more pieces of faux cedar garland. I have been collecting wood trees (mostly from HERE), and put the collection on the mantle this year.
The Shepherd Art (nesting15 for 15% off) was my starting off point for the decor in our family room.
In Lola’s room it was fun to add holiday light up houses with my favorite faux cedar garland over the window, and we actually left her flameless candles up all year for a cozy vibe. See Lola’s Christmas bedroom this year HERE.
The colorful Christmas basement was our family’s favorite spot to hang together! On our flocked slim Christmas Tree, I found some cute colorful ornaments and the felt initials we love to hang on each persons stocking. See our advent idea here.

You can see this flocked tree on the right in the entry, it was a really popular tree last year, sold out early! I put mine in an older basket.
These star twinkle lights are so fun to mix into garland and on shelves! I dried fruit for garland for the first time last year and loved it! You can see how I made the garland here.
In our dining room, I used the same cedar garland and snowy garland, then layered two strands of this gold star garland. Grouped in these gold candlesticks, with these battery candles (you have to twist out the center poker to get candle to fit). Really The Wise Virgin was my starting off point, love her. Layered over Miracle on 34th Street Quote (code nesting15 for 15% off Lindsay Letters).
