We are BIG muffin fans over here, paleo muffins that is. Something about portioning out a baked good keeps me from over-doing it. And we love to have muffins on hand for a healthy snack for myself and my kids, they make an easy quick breakfast with some eggs. As you know I like to cook about 95% paleo. I just feel so much better when I eat paleo and I know my kids do too. Occasionally we make homemade pizza, popcorn and cookies oh and our easy homemade bread. If we want to stick to healthy eating, then prep-work is key. I had some extra bananas laying around and I thought I would try my ... Read More
Summer Home Decor Ideas- Our Summer Tour 2017
Hello friends and new friends stopping over from A Stroll Thru Life Summer Home Tour! I love joining with other bloggers to peek inside their homes and get ideas for Summer home decor. Not to mention it is a good push to get me to change things up. I can get stuck in a rut and feel un inspired with my home. But I tell you what, it is amazing what moving things around and brining in a couple of new pieces does for your mood and energy. I sold some pieces that were collecting dust in my basement because I thought I would use them again in my home decor, but I should know that once it goes to the ... Read More

Our New Modern Ceiling Fans
As soon as we moved into this home we immediately took down the ceiling fans. There were three fans in this 1950's house. Two in the bedrooms upstairs and one in the kitchen. They were really outdated. I couldn't get them out of here quick enough. I replaced the ceiling fans with chandeliers. Summer came and we learned that we might need the ceiling fans. The home does not have central air. So we had to buy the ugly window units and I really hate those the those most! So I was thrilled to partnered with Hunter Fan because they have the most stylish and modern ceiling fans I have seen. I am ... Read More
No Sew Pillows- Easy DIY
*Post contains affilate links I came up with an EASY way to make pillow covers that are No-Sew! I actually do know how to sew and I do have a sewing machine. But sometimes you don't want to get out the sewing machine, but you do want to make a quick pillow. Or maybe you find cloth napkins that you love the fabric so much you want it for pillows. This was the case with my new lemon napkins, they needed to be summer pillows. Perfect match. All you need for No-Sew Pillows- Eyelet Snap Punch ( I use this all the time for cards and tags) 8 Eyelets (in the color to match your fabric, ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with Solar Powered String Lights
First off for my Friday Favorites today I want to share the Solar Powered String Lights I found and we just installed on our back patio. In a 1950's home we are lacking in some areas such as closet space and exterior plugs. So my dream of having String Lights on our patio was not very likely going to happen. Unless I wanted to have an extension cord going through a window or pay a lot of money to have a plug installed. I was so thrilled when I came across THESE Solar Powered String Lights while shopping one day. I knew this would be the perfect solution! Shop other String Lights ... Read More
Letterboards-Are you funny enough to own one?
I have wanted a Letter Board for a while now. I am sure you have seen them all over Instagram and Pinterest. I laughed when I saw a quote on a Letterboard with this.. "I am probably not funny enough to own one of these." And that is TOTALLY me! I do get a kick out of reading all the clever things you funny people think of. Since I am not funny my Letterboard will probably be a borrowed quote. We were reading scriptures the other night and I came across a scripture that jumped out to me. I read the scripture twice because I loved it so much and wanted to make sure my girls caught it ... Read More
New England Homes- Exterior Paint Color Ideas
Happy Memorial Day! I can remember driving through Connecticut and our little town called Fairfield for the very first time. I was smitten, it was love at first sight. No home is alike. They all have so much charm and character. Especially this time of year. New England has a way with homes. I notice I am drawn to the exteriors with a pop of color or the perfect curves and angels. The other day I decided I was finally going to take some pictures of my favorite exteriors right around our home. I pass by these homes when I am taking my girls to school or out running. I have to say it is ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with a Design Question about Fans
What do you think of the ceiling fans? I read an article about design mistakes and a designer said that he considers ceiling fans a design mistake. I disagree. Ceiling fans have come a long way! He thinks that homes should be designed properly for the right air flow so you do not need a ceiling fan. In a perfect world that *might* be possible. But all homes are not created equal and sometimes it is necessary for a ceiling fan or at least a portable fan. I shared some of my favorite fans and also other favorite things from the past week! I love this white kitchen it looks retro but ... Read More
