Thank you for all the love on my post yesterday on all our new bedding details. We are really enjoying our fluffy bedding. We also enjoy the view laying in our bed looking up at the ceiling. Our old ceiling was hard- literally. They were square tiles. But they were not tiles that you could push up and they would move. It was like sheetrock that was imprinted with a tile stencil. We kept debating on what we could do to makeover the ceiling. Everything seemed like too much work or too messy. With a small house there isn't room to take things out of the bedroom and tear down the ceiling. So we ... Read More
Fluffy White Master Bedding
I have blogged about our master bedroom more times than is probably "normal." Every time that I have shared our master bedroom you have never seen the ceiling. It is always strategically cropped out. That is because I was hiding a secret. The ceiling was bad. But now is the day you get to see the ceiling in all it's glory- be excited. And a new ceiling leads to new bedding, fluffy white bedding to be exact, from Boll and Branch. Because I had another secret, that white duvet that we were using was close to 7 years old and starting to show it's age. It was time for something new. Of ... Read More
Organized Bathroom Closet
I SO wish I had a before of this closet I recently updated. First of all it is nice that we even have a closet in our tiny bathroom, any storage we can get in our little cape is so appreciated. But...it was NOT functional. This closet is in our upstairs bathroom. Our girls use this bathroom and also share it when guests come. I wanted to give it a little more life. I love adding a little bit of character in unexpected places. Since I do not have a before photo of just the closet, this is what the bathroom looked like before. You can get a pretty good idea of what the closet would have ... Read More
Eclectic Fall Home Tour
Hello! Welcome to my Eclectic Fall Home Tour. I am joining Marty from A Stroll Thru Life and 30 other bloggers to share our Fall Homes this week. I love home tours, it is so fun to be exposed to new bloggers and get ideas on how to decorate our homes with the change of the seasons. For those that are new to my blog, welcome! We are a family of 5 living in Connecticut and have been for almost two years. We live in an 1100 square foot cape style home. Our home is about 800 meters to the beach and about an hour into New York City. We love our location and all that we have been exposed to. Fall ... Read More
Top Mudroom Inspiration Ideas and Lowes
Do you remember when I shared on THIS post that I get the privilege of working with one home owner for a Lowe's Fall Makeover?? Lowe's is such a great company to come up with this makeover idea. We have selected the home owner for this project and have contacted them. I am sorry if you were not selected and you took the time to apply. I would have loved to work with everyone who applied! Such great applications and such heart warming people and stories were shared. The project that was selected is a mudroom that has unfinished walls and in need of some organization for a growing loving ... Read More
Paleo Pumpkin Bread Recipe- The BEST Recipe
I posted a picture of this Paleo Pumpkin Bread I made on my Instagram the other day and I had a lot of people asking for my recipe. I actually bake with pumpkin ALLLLL year long. I love the flavor and that it is a really healthy baking ingredient. My friend makes yummy paleo pumpkin muffins that my girls request or will drop hints that it would be such great snack in their lunch. I couldn't keep asking my friend to give us free homemade muffins. So I decided to find a healthy recipe and adapt it for our liking. And the recipe below is a winner! Not dry or too dense, you would never know it was ... Read More
Succulents, Cookies and Shopping
I shared last blog post how excited I was that my mom was in town. She flew in Friday night and just flew out today. It is always sad to see her leave. She is just such a joy to be around. She is happy doing whatever we are doing, so easy going and helpful. The girls went back to school today giving my mom and I some time to go shopping at one of our favorite spots, Shop Terrain. I brought my camera along and snapped some pictures of things that inspired me. From succulents, fall colors, bees, dishes, cutting boards, smells and food...always food. It was a perfect September day, the weather ... Read More
Friday Favorites and Anthropologie Sale
My husband, Kevin had the morning off so he was able to take the girls to their first day of school with me. It was so fun to have him there. I remember last year seeing all the Dad's and wishing he could be there as I cried dropping Lola off to her first day of Kindergarten. It was a good morning. The girls couldn't wait to get to school. And I was pretty thrilled to send them off then looked forward to hearing all about their day when they got home. After we passed them off to their teachers we went grocery shopping (pretty happy to have Kevin there, as I am sure he was stoked). We ... Read More
Fall Inspiration
My kids start school Thursday this week. Is it bad to say that I am kind of excited? I saw a picture on Facebook that went viral about the Mom cheering and doing leaps in front of her kids obligatory first day of school pictures. She was pumped. She is awesome, I get it. Don't get me wrong I love my girls so much. But it will be nice to have them learn and not feel so much pressure to make sure they read and get something out of the day! I can pass that responsibility onto someone else. I would not be good at home schooling. Anyways I digress.... Now that they have started school I have ... Read More
Favorite Healthy Granola
Hello! I wanted to pop over to share a little recipe that is on repeat at our home. My girls love to have granola with their yogurt, if I don't have it always freshly made, I have failed as a mom in their eyes. We like to make our own healthy version. It tastes so much better and it doesn't break down into tiny crumbs, we like it chunky! I really like to know what we put in it and can add more or less of something depending what is on hand that day. I have tried making granola with no added sugar, but it really didn't stick together. We have tried a lot of different recipes from ... Read More
