I am often asked questions about how to make a large family room feel more cozy and what to do with expansive blank walls to make a home feel homey. This obviously isn't a problem in my 1100 square foot cape, but my friend recently moved into a home with a large, over-the-garage bonus room. Not only was the 800 square foot family room ENORMOUS, it was not really functional for her family and she said that it often felt like a giant waste since no one really wanted to spend time up there!! Can anyone else relate to a large family room?? I have some tips for you~ How to not ... Read More

Our Vintage Inspired Christmas Tree and Stockings
Our front room was sure fun to decorate this year with my new toy….our electric fireplace. Yes, it is totally a toy to me. I have loved decorating it. And as soon as we hung the mantel I was ready to hang our Christmas stockings even though it was October! We were still able to fit our Christmas Tree in our front room, right next to our fireplace. I have to say it is just the coziest room. Already thinking it will make me sad taking down the Christmas decor because I love the hygee feeling in this room. I am joining Ella Claire Inspired and 15 bloggers to share our Christmas Trees and ... Read More

Kids Art and Photo Wall and Hp Sprocket Printer/Camera
This post is sponsored by Hp First day of school here in Connecticut for my girls! Both of them are very excited. Personally I love having them around and get teary eyed whenever I think of them starting back. I don't know why, because I am fresh out of ideas for them to do! But it will be good to get back to productive schedules. Before school started I try to get things organized and establish systems. Where backpacks go, lunch boxes, papers when they come in the door (we try to stick to a paper-less policy here) and where the art projects will hang. I frame some of their art, but there ... Kids Toy Organization- Custom Rolling Storage Bin
I have a simple follow up DIY tutorial from the nursery I shared a week or so ago. This is an easy custom Toy Storage Idea for a kids room or baby nursery. Even think outside the "Toy" label I put on it and use it for a unique rolling hamper in a laundry room or really ANY space that you can think of and need custom storage for. This custom way to organize toys cost under $50 and the original version that gave me my inspiration was well over $125. A lot of you requested this tutorial from when you saw it on the nursery post and on my Instagram Stories (videos I shared on ... Read More

Can you believe that Christmas is almost here?! I can, because my kids tell me daily. Their joy is really infectious. This is my first year! If you came from So Much Better With Age, welcome! Her house is darling. Our home is in Connecticut if you are new here, we ... Read More

I actually had several readers ask where I put our Christmas Cards we receive in the mail. Or for any ideas I had on displaying Christmas Cards. I asked all of my readers to share pictures of how they display their Christmas Cards and I got over 50 photos! So let's take a look at them, but first I want to show you our Christmas ... Read More
