Can you believe that Christmas is almost here?! I can, because my kids tell me daily. Their joy is really infectious. The other night I set aside about two hours and took pictures at night of our entire 1100 square foot home for a Christmas Night Tour. It was really magical and I was getting a little sad thinking of our home without the warm, cozy glow. I am really excited to join Maison De Pax for her annual Christmas Nights Tour. This is my first year! If you came from So Much Better With Age, welcome! Her house is darling. Our home is in Connecticut if you are new here, we are about 800 meters from the beach and an hour to New York City to give you a reference. So let’s start the tour.
This is our front room. The first room you see when you walk in the door. The room we sit and read our Christmas Books and do our Christmas Countdown. One of my favorite things, well actually if I had to just choose one Christmas Piece to decorate with I would be twinkle lights. Hands down.
My girls were at a Christmas play with friends and Kevin took Finn out to give me a little break. I decided to take pictures of all of our house, I was feeling a little nostalgic and sad knowing soon this would all come down. So get ready to see all of our home besides the two bathrooms.
I love this tradition of decorating with lights. I recently heard someone say that the beautiful lights at Christmas remind us of Him who is the source of all light. Christmas lights can remind us that Jesus Christ is the Light of the World. They can also remind us to be lights to others and to help others come unto Christ. I absolutely love this message. So I hope as you tour our tiny home you are reminded of this too.
We have been practicing Christmas songs and singing along to them. Our piano is a place we gather and connect with each other, even more around Christmas.
I really didn’t clean up much before I took these photos. I see tags or weird things that I am sure that only my eye goes straight to. But this is how I want our home to be- not staged. A place that all feel welcome and especially my family feels comfortable and safe in.
After our front room you can walk straight ahead to a bathroom then to the left is our eat-in kitchen.
The garland around our kitchen sink has been our favorite part of our Christmas decor and I think for all my readers. It is faux garland that I added fresh eucalyptus to. It surprisingly looked great for the entire month and a half I have had it up! The eucalyptus dried really nicely.
After you leave the kitchen to the left is a bathroom and then two bedrooms. First we will go in Finn’s nursery.
I actually have those lights hanging in Finn’s nursery all year, kind of like a night light.
We have a daybed in Finn’s nursery for extra seating and for a place to sleep when we have a lot of company.
Master bedroom is the other room on our main floor. We do have a TV and a dresser in this room. I know a lot of you are against a TV in the bedroom. But oh, it is just so extra cozy to curl up in bed and watch a Christmas Movie. My favorite is the Holiday, obviously for that little cottage in England. Do you remember Iris’s little house? Oh and her brother is ok to look at I guess:)
I have gotten asked how we sleep with garland over our head. It really hasn’t bothered us one bit, I mean it is 95% better than the real garland I did last year!
Now we are upstairs! BTW I am going to show a video of the whole house over on my Instagram Stories, so this will all make more sense. Make sure to follow me HERE and catch it when I post it tonight.
We had company come and stay for Thanksgiving. I made sure to have this room all decked with Christmas decor for them to sleep in here. This sofa pulls out to a bed. I personally would love to sleep by a Christmas tree, so I thought our guests would too.
Our Christmas Tree in a basket was a big hit, well according to me! The tree fit perfectly right in this baskets. (Shop Christmas items in our upstairs HERE).
Our Christmas Cards hang here, and they won’t come down until the end of January! You can see what I do with them after HERE.
Directly out of this room is our daughters shared bedroom. And to the left is another bathroom.
One of the favorite spots in our house is the double swing in their bedroom. The girls spend a lot of time in their room so I wanted to make it extra cozy and festive for them.
If you want to find out the source of an item in our home, see paint colors or see our home in the day you can find all that HERE.
I hope you enjoyed our tiny cape all glowing with lights and Christmas Decor. I want to wish you a Merry Christmas and happiness this season.

I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas!
YES! That would be so fun. Thank you!! It was fun to take pictures at night, harder but fun:)
Have a Merry Christmas to you and your family of boys!
Brooke, you have SO many beautiful holiday vignettes. Your whole home is beautiful, but I just love how magical your girls’ room is! Thanks for joining the tour!
Thank you Rachel! Still getting the hang of night photos. Thanks for organizing this!
What a lovely little home! Your children are so blessed to grow up in a warm, safe home that must feel so cozy and special. I wish I could go back in time for a bit to my childhood home especially during Christmas and just be there again. The memories are all that are left of that home now and I’m so thankful for them. As mom’s I think that’s why we try to make our homes feel a certain way-so our children will have those sweet memories.
Merry Christmas!
yes, that is so very true. I love exactly what you said. Merry Christmas to you!
Who thought your home could be even more cozy?? It’s so warm and inviting. I am with you on already feeling sad about the decorations coming down and fewer twinkle lights. I plan on keeping as many up as I can get away with. Thank you for sharing. I will be checking out the video tour. 🙂
Thank you!! I will post it soon!
