Backcountry and Outdoor Gift Ideas
Kevin and I have a goal to go on a hike once a week, we love being back in Utah for the proximity to hiking trails. We are 5 minutes to the base of lots of trailheads. When we lived in Connecticut we still managed to find great trails, they were just a longer drive to get to, which we were willing to do. Our love of the outdoors runs deep for both Kevin and I. Neither of our parents had a lot of money when we were young, so exploring outdoors was a way for our parents to entertain us for free. My mom often worked every Saturday so my dad would load up all 4 of us kids and take us up the ... Read More

My Complete Houseplant Guide- Why I LOVE Houseplants
Houseplants have become my favorite accessory to decorate my home with. I love how a houseplant breaths life into a space. A houseplant is something I think every room needs. And yes! You can keep them alive. Houseplants are so much easier to keep alive then you think. I believe many times we over think it and "kill them with love" because we overwater and let the roots sit in water. Or we don't come up with a watering schedule and forgot to water. It is important to check what each of your plant's need for water and sun before you bring them home and just place them where you think they ... Read More

Plant Parent Tips- How to Help Plants Grow and More
I love my houseplants so much. Most of my decor is in the form of a plant. I like that they add life to a room. NASA researchers have done studies on the best, and most efficient ways to clean the air in space stations. The conclusion, they recommend 15-18 plants for an 1800 square foot home or apartment. Basically 1 plant for every 100 square feet. Plants can absorb toxins through their leaves and serve as a natural way to filter the air in your home. Sharing my top plant tips from watering, how to clean leaves, what plant food is best, avoiding bugs and more! (source) We are always ... Read More
Lola’s Bedroom with a View- Utah Ranch Home
When we bought this ranch home in Utah back in November 2020, I wasn't sure we were going to add a second floor. I originally liked the idea of adding faux dormers to give the front a little more curb appeal. A selling point to help the girls be ok moving from Connecticut and all their dear friends to Utah, was the fact that they would get their own bedrooms. And without adding a second floor they wouldn't be able to have their own bedrooms AND us to be able to have a guest room. We are all very happy we decided to do the second floor addition and the girls LOVE their bedrooms and bathroom! ... Read More
