Home Security and Peace of Mind- Free Security Equipment
Some of you might have heard this story, but wanted to share it again as to why we finally decided on a home security system. We would have really liked to have outdoor cameras to protect our home and car, when our car was stolen. I didn't realize WHY we could have benefited from outdoor security cameras, if we had outdoor security cameras we would have been alerted immediately of motion outside our home and we would have been protected. About a month ago, Kevin woke up to head into work around 4:30 am. Walked outside and noticed the car wasn't where it should be. He came back in, ... Read More
Painted Piano and Wallpaper Accent Wall- Make a Statement!
Today we did a mini makeover for some friends of ours, that took about two and a half hours to do. I love little makeovers like this that show how you can love the home you have with a little bit of love and effort. The recipe for this mini makeover was- a main piece of furniture- a thrifted piano, some peel and stick wallpaper to create a fun accent wall, a few accessories, a plant or two and some accent lights. And we were ready to make a major statement! Do you remember this family room and fireplace we made-over couple months ago? I stole that mirror that is above their fireplace ... Read More

Easy Bedding Idea and Curtain Panel Tips- Bedroom Makeover
We are lucky enough to live around some really great people, who are way too kind about my ability to makeover a room. I had met Keith at our local CrossFit and he was cracking me up how he knew the term "Water Wednesday" and "Thirsty Thursday". So I knew he was a real fan. Ha. So when he and his wife Lauren, asked me to come over and help them with their guest room, I was game. I typically say no to design jobs, but I consider them friends. Also I told them if I can share their room makeover on my blog then that is the only way I will do it. I want to be able to help everyone, so my blog is ... Read More

Trader Joe’s Favorite PALEO Foods
A blog reader recently asked me to share my favorite paleo foods I buy from Trader Joe's! I thought that was a great idea. In the past I have shared a Trader Joe's Top 40 Favorites, but a lot of it I don't actually buy myself. It was a "Most Popular Trader Joe's Items" kind of list that everyone loved. But when I personally shop at Trader Joe's I stand there and read all the labels, some I know without even picking up that the item it isn't paleo. A pizza sauce for instance might have some sneaky sugar in it, even sausages and other foods you wouldn't think have sugar do! So if it is packaged ... Read More
Top Things to EAT, SEE, and DO in NYC
Kevin and I recently went to New York for our Anniversary. We live about an hour away from NYC and it is one of our favorite places to go. There is SO much to see, do and eat! We do find that we go back to our favorites every time we go in. We can take the train in, but typically we just drive in and pay for day parking or overnight if we stay at a hotel. There are so many new things to try, but it isn't a trip to New York City unless we have a cookie from Levain Bakery or dinner at Jacobs Pickles. This time we stayed at The 1 Hotel, an absolutely gorgeous, boutique hotel close to ... Read More
September Giveaway Winner Design Plan and Serena & Lily Sale
I did a e-design inspiration plan for one reader on instagram, she won my September Giveaway! I have a lot of you who have asked me to do this as a giveaway. But I am just going to be honest. It can be hard to give this away. Because it really does take several hours to come up with a plan, a lot of time. I only mention the time, because it can look like it doesn't and the person who gets the plan, could wind up being disappointed, that it isn't what they wanted. And I hate that. It really is more of an in-depth process than it looks. Plus it really won't look "done" if all of the finishing ... Read More
