Friday Favorites Starts with Baskets for Storage and Plants
Hello! Better late then never. We had book club late last night so I didn’t get to finish my Friday Favorites. Most blog posts I try to have planned out a couple days before I post. Friday Favorites is typically a topic that I get asked a lot about over on Instagram or in my comments on my blog. Lately a lot of questions on baskets! So I complied a list of some of my favorite baskets and where I use them and how they double up for the Holidays!
(We read The Bronze Horseman for bookclub. I LOVE that series, I have actually listened to it twice. Everyone liked the book a lot. It is a three part series).

Bathroom (upstairs) Design Plan, Before and Inspiration
Greetings! 🙂 We had a fun Facebook Chat last night! If you aren’t in our group yet- make sure to join since you are a subscriber!
Today on the blog I shared my Design Plan for our upstairs Bathroom- the before photos if you haven’t seen it yet and why we are making some changes. Also the voting results for the question I asked on Instagram Stories- Double Sinks OR Counter Space?? What had the most votes and what we are going with.

Design Question and My Suggestions
1. Rug? No rug? What type of rug? I would add a larger rug under the cowhide that is a neutral. Or I would ditch the cowhide rug and do a navy rug like THIS.
2. What do you think of the seating arrangement and sectional? What would you change about it? One sofa and add chairs? Keep sectional? The sectional looks great! Up to you and how your family uses this space. (I think that is always #1 thing to consider)
3. Keep fireplace wall that color? Add shiplap and paint it white? I do like your dark wall because it disguises your tv!! What about painting the back of the bookcases in the same color? It would feel more cohesive…
4. I want to recover the ottoman, what fabric? Or do I get rid of it and replace with something else? The color is fun! What about doing it in that coral color like the pillow in the center. It is unique!
5. Windows: keep as is? Replace with Bamboo blinds? Add curtains? I would add curtain panels, remove the blinds and do nothing or bamboo shades to brighten it up.
I know this is a lot of questions, help would be truly appreciated!!

Friday Favorites starts with Bathroom Storage Solution
I am answering a couple design questions (I am late on getting back to!). Let me know if you like seeing design questions answered this way??

Design Question-
Janelle said that she wants to brighten up her living room and make it feel more cozy. She knows she needs a rug. I could see something like THS one, because it is light and also has some brown to pull in the brown accents.
Also I talked about shapes a little on todays blog post. Notice in her room the TV is a large rectangle shape and the piece above her sofa is also? I think it can still work but the piece above her sofa needs to be lowered right above that chair rail- so it is grouped with her sofa. Look at your room as little vignettes rather than one large room. Her TV could also be lowered- it is the same height as the windows- you want some varied height on a wall. I would do the TV right above the console, then you aren’t looking up to watch TV either.
I hope that helps! And doesn’t stress you out. Just take it one step at a time!
Design Question-
Kemeyn wanted to know how to make her space cozier too. Again- the art is hung too high- it is the same height as the doorway. You want to group it with your sofa, about 5-6″ above the sofa. Also I would move the loveseat and chair off of the wall, grouped more with the sectional. I could see doing two chairs with the sectional rather than the matching loveseat. Also a rug (as she knows) then the chairs or if she needs to keep loveseat it would be on the rug also (just the front of the legs). I could see a rug like THIS to lighten up the space or THIS one would look great too.
