I have gotten asked a lot lately how I create my Design Boards or some call them a Mood Board. This is not just something for designers. It is so helpful in pulling any room together. Or helping you achieve your "look" for your home. This is a MUST before you start buying a thing for a room. The first step I take in designing a room is to make a plan. DO NOT just go out and purchase things, I can't stress this enough. You will waste a lot of money, time and end up far from the look you are trying to achieve. These are the steps I take when designing room- #1- List anything that is a ... Read More

Behind the Scenes of our HGTV Magazine Photo Shoot
I got an email from a magazine scout. She wanted to know if she could submit our home to a magazine. I said sure, doesn't hurt to try. I have to admit I was a little excited and hopeful. About a month later I got an email saying they were going to pass on our home. It wasn't a right fit. I was a little bummed out. Fast forward to a couple months later and another magazine scout emailed me. She wanted to know if she could submit our home for a Christmas issue featuring kitchens. I said sure go ahead, but told her it was already turned down by that same magazine she wanted to send it ... Read More
Friday Favorites starts with Bathroom Storage Solution
I shared our little bathroom closet over on Instagram and I had a lot of questions. I thought I would share it here too. This closet is in our upstairs bathroom. It actually had bi-fold doors on it when we moved in. They would open on the right and it was really hard to get into! So we took the doors off and it was much easier to do then I thought. Simple bathroom storage solution done in 5 minutes....really! Think of taking the doors off an area that is not functional for you. I kept everything in the small open closet white and light. Something about bathroom storage you want it to ... Read More

Quick Healthy Dinners- Favorite Things from Trader Joe’s
The other night I was looking what to make for dinner that would be QUICK- HEALTHY- WHOLE30 or PALEO. Did I mention quick?? Because come 5 pm sharp my kids are ready for dinner. And we really want to make sure they get a variety of veggies at dinner. You know how some families do Taco Tuesday or Pizza on Fridays...maybe that is your fun family?? (I secretly want to do that, but haven't yet). We have Frittata once a week, really it is "mom's cooking" so it's either Frittata or one of the meals below. And Trader Joe's is an absolute favorite place to go for groceries, really it makes it fun for ... Read More
Fireplace Makeover- and Styled with Decor from Target!
This Fireplace Makeover is so good. Very excited to share it! My good friends who live around the corner from us wanted me to pop over and give their Fireplace Mantel a refresh for Christmas. I was happy too- but they probably weren't expecting what it would lead to! I went to Target and just gave it a facelift, using Target finds and things they already had. After I was done I gave them a few extra tips- I always like to do that. Leave people with a little more to think about! I suggested they remove their wood blinds (they weren't really adding to the room, just taking away the view and the ... Read More
Friday Favorites start with the small things that add up to GREAT things
I shared that we went to Florida last Friday. Well on our last day, I got a little time to shop and fill my CUP and believe me, it doesn't take much. Just a couple small things-trinkets get me! We went and looked at the directory to see the shops I wanted to pop into while we were at Disney Springs. We already knew the girls wanted to go to the Lego Shop. I needed to hit a MAC makeup store. Then I saw that Sugarboo was in there. I have many Sugarboo pieces in our home. So it was a must stop. I tell you what just entering that shop filled my creative soul. I posted on Instagram Stories when ... Read More
Shiplap Wall DIY Tutorial- Inexpensive Accent Wall
I have another EASY DIY project for you! We added a wood planks or as most refer to it as shiplap to the nursery we recently made over in two days for my sister-in-law. I personally don't think shiplap is going anywhere and love it in a small application like we used it. You could do this same shiplap look on a ceiling or the entire wall. We partnered with Lowe's to complete this project and so happy we did because we found the perfect pack of wood to use as shiplap and that was very affordable. Everything in this room and for this project can be found at Lowe's. Keep in mind you can ... Read More
Home Tour this New England Charming Home with the Blue Door
The house with the "Blue Arched Door" is one I point out to visitors as we walk to the beach or I stop and take a picture of it when I run by. It was one of the very first photos I shared on Social Media- I even guessed what the color of the blue door is. So when Marybeth the now owner of the "House with the Blue Arched Door" sent me an email saying that she is a reader of my blog and would love to meet me. I said "Yes! Can I come see your house and take photos??" And oh man I am so happy that she reached out, she brightened my day in every way. I was actually surprised that her charming New ...
