Driving around our area and neighborhood it makes my heart swell to see the efforts everyone puts into the exterior of their homes. It really just brings me so much joy. I recently read a short little true story that confirmed to me WHY we decorate and put effort into our homes especially during the Holidays and Christmas Season. And we came up with a way to spread some joy in our neighborhood with some unique Neighbor Gifts! This is the story in my words... There was a couple who had different opinions on how to decorate their home at Christmas time, especially what color of ... Read More
How to Manage Messy Cords and Papers
Remember when I shared our new Secretary Desk? Our little office? Well I am here with an update. It was kept perfect and so organized for a couple of weeks or actually months. But once my girls discovered how fun it was to color and do their homework here it started to get messy. Oh and then Christmas hit and this became the dumping ground. Then we needed to charge the phones, iPads and laptop and the mess of cords just took over. So I partnered with Native Union to share how we were able to manage messy cords and papers in our home office...how to keep it under control! Since we ... Read More
Lego Storage Solution- Before and After of our Lego “Room”
We found a solution! A solution to the Lego madness. It is a love hate relationship with the Lego's. I LOVE that they entertain Ella for hours and hours. She can be creative and build. I HATE that they get spread out all over the place. And most recently it came to a head since Finn (20 month old) can get around the house on his own. It was a constant battle to keep him out of this room. I didn't like the stress... knowing Finn could ruin Ella's creations and also having to restrict him from an entire room and the fact that we really couldn't keep him out of the room because of the barn ... Friday Favorites starts with Kindness and Christmas Entries
I am back with some of my favorite things from the week! I was just so inspired this week by all of you. I have a file in my email that is titled "Kind Words" I save all of the nice emails and words you send to me. I just think everyone needs a Kindness Folder. A place to go when you hear something unkind or you are unsure if you are helping anyone. So this week I got a lot of your pictures of your Christmas entries, your garland over your kitchen sink, your wreaths with scarves... just so much goodness. I love seeing others happy with their homes and making the most of them. Anyways! I ... Read More
How to Create a Very Merry Hygge Christmas
I briefly talked about Hygge before but it has just been on my mind lately. Have you heard of Hygge before? If you haven't, it is a Danish word that you actually pronounce like this- "Hoo-Guh"....so now as you read this post you will say it right in your head, because I sure wasn't! Basically Hygge is a cozy, relaxed, comforting (if a house can do that? I think so) home. Not only is it how you decorate your home it is what you DO in your home. I partnered with Antique Candle Works and I thought this is the perfect opportunity to share some tips on creating a Very Merry Hygge ... Read More
My Experience with Milk Paint on our Gallery Wall Frames
I had heard of Milk Paint, but just didn't understand what it was and how it was different than Chalk Paint or Mud Paint. Have you heard of it? Well, my friend Miss Mustard Seed has her own line of Milk Paint and I got to try it! We had these large frames I have been wanting to refresh and use up our stairs as a gallery wall with candid family photo's. And I thought these frames would be a good place to start with Milk Paint, the smaller the better for me when trying out a new paint or any project for that matter! I shared my experience with Milk paint on our gallery wall frames. And ... Read More

Gift Guide for White Elephant Game (not gag gifts) and Cyber Monday Deals

If you are not familiar with the White Elephant Gift Exchange. Here is the low down or the way we play it at both parties. White Elephant Game- Everyone brings a generic gift all about the same dollar amount. I count the gifts and write out little sheets of paper with numbers on them for how many gifts we have.
