Most of you know we live in a Cape in Connecticut. It was built in the 1950's...so I consider this an old home. When we moved in two years ago we were not really prepared for how cold it get's in Connecticut. We are by the beach, so in my mind I didn't think we would get much snow. I was completely wrong! Not only do we get snow, it feels so much colder because of the humidity. We came from Utah where it is a dry snow, much lighter fluffier snow. Since this will be our third winter here I have been on a mission to keep the heat in our home and make living more pleasant in the winter. I was ... Read More

Our Family Christmas Cards 2016
I think Christmas cards can cause a big stress for families- because most of the time they require a darling family picture. I almost went there and jumped on the stressed out Christmas card train. But I didn't let myself. I stopped and thought "how can I make this the easiest and fun for my family?" And it totally worked! I partnered with Tiny Prints to share what I did this year- I originally was going to drive around and find the "perfect" setting for our pictures to be taken at. I was envisioning a big white barn that was slightly modern. Rather than waste half my day trespassing on ... Read More

Homemade Christmas Gift Tags and a Birthday Party
Our little Lola just turned 6 on November 29th! She is such a fun little girl, so playful, social, determined, loving and a little wild one. She adds so much to our little family- just pure joy. She knew exactly what she wanted to do for her Birthday Party. We were talking about options and I mentioned a bounce house. She thought about it and said "If we do that then everyone will not be together." She had a good point! So she came up with the idea for a party at our house (ahhhh) with a craft, games, pizza and cake. She really liked what we did for her sisters birthday party (you can read ... Read More

Gift Idea for the Cook
I have a confession...I rarely cook. When my husband is home he does the cooking. I don't mind cooking, I just don't like to spend my time doing it. When I do cook I like to make things that don't take longer than about 30 minutes, so I can move onto something else. My husband travels for weeks at a time in the beginning of the year. I think having a service like Blue Apron deliver all the ingredients for a healthy meal with easy to follow instructions would be a great gift idea for me:) or anyone else that has a busy schedule with not a lot of time to grocery shop- or the desire! We ... Read More

New String Art- For Christmas
I love the look of String Art and I had been wanting to try my hand at it- honestly it seemed really hard just looking at the images I saw on Pinterest. Most tutorials I saw required that you use an overhead projector to make the design, I don't know about you but I don't have one of those laying around. I shared how I made the first string art design I ever did HERE. Christmas is getting closer and I wanted to give the string art a seasonal change too. Sadly the first design I tried was a #fail. I didn't give up, I tried again and ended up with a really cute Christmas Design. I took ... Read More
Christmas Tradition- A New Book about Kindness
Thank you Penguin Young Readers for sponsoring this post. We love to read and collect Christmas books. It is a tradition in our home to buy a new Christmas book for our family every year. I was so excited when I was introduced to North Pole Ninjas. Once I read it with my family I knew it was something I wanted to share with others. This book got us all excited because it has a mission and has a purpose to generate kindness by helping, caring and listening to others. To be honest when I first heard the title of the book I thought it was something my girls would not like, only boys. I was ... Read More
