We did it. We painted the piano. Again. I shared a couple posts back that I had the itch to change it up and had a soft pink on the brain. It was like it came to me in a dream, not really just in a daydream actually. So I went with it. After thinking pink I searched my paint deck and online looking for ideas. I came across chalk paint in a soft pink. I had originally used chalk paint the first time we painted our piano and loved the result, not to mention how quick and easy it was to paint. I decided to go with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint again. My sweet hubby actually painted it pink for me when ... Read More

Gray Paint Change up on our Interior Kitchen Door
Maybe it is the unseasonably warm weather we are having in Connecticut that is making me itch for Spring and changes. Or it could be me feeling off if I don't paint something every now and then. As you know we are making some fun changes coming up in our kitchen. Actually my handy-man gave me a date that he can come and I can't wait for him to get started on the banquette in our kitchen. We also have new roman shades coming for our windows in here. So of course like any home project it snowballs and I decided I needed to paint our kitchen interior door. BEFORE- Gray from Benjamin ... Connecticut Home Tour
Hello! This is our home in Fairfield, Connecticut. We lived here for 6 years and loved it! We picked this home because of the location, and knew we could make it better than before, and investment! Half a mile to the beach, or take a short walk into town, then hop on a train and in an hour you would be in New York City watching a play or eating somewhere yummy! The home was 1100 square feet, with an unfinished basement, that had all our storage, and laundry (basement couldn't ever be finished due to living in a flood zone). We remodeled and added on about 300 square feet (you can see our floor ... Read More
Top Blog Posts of 2016
I have been blogging for about a year and a half now and really love it. I started blogging when I moved to Connecticut as a way to keep up on my design skills and stay current with what was going on in the design world. Not to mention it has been another form of journaling I didn't consider. I had quit my job as a manager/buyer and designer to stay at home with my kids, I was thrilled to start this new chapter of my life but I also knew that setting goals and accomplishing tangible things contributes to my happiness. So a blog seemed like it would fill that need. Little did I know how busy it ... Read More
Bar Cart Styling Ideas and Favorite Holiday Drink
I have shared my love for bar carts before. I think they are probably one of the greatest piece of furniture to own. They are so versatile. You can style them for everyday use in your home or deck them out for a Christmas or Holiday party. I am pretty over the moon with THIS new bar cart I found from Serena & Lily. I love mixing in different textures and the rattan is one that goes with most any style. The trick to a well styled bar cart is layers. I broke it down for you on how to style your own bar cart! #1- Add height- use a vase or a pitcher with some flowers or ... Read More

Making Room for Bebe- with Jonathan Adler
Thank you Fisher Price for sponsoring this post- all photos and opinions are my own. I only work with brands I would personally buy on my own. I wanted to share something new for baby that I just discovered from Jonathan Adler crafted by Fisher-Price, that has made our life easier and I highly recommend for great baby shower gifts. This new collection mixes so well with most any home decor. I always say that we should decorate our homes for our loved ones and for us, not for anyone else. I make my bed everyday even if nobody steps foot into our home. I do it for myself. With that in ... Read More
Banquette Style Seating in a Small Space
If this banquette could talk. Oh the hours that have been spent here...my husband watching me cook me watching my husband cook dinner. When we have guests come and stay with us they could tell you the amount of time we spend in this little 10'x13' space talking late into the night and snacking. If it was all wood chairs I don't think we would spend as much time here. The settee makes for a great gathering space and also feels like banquette seating. I would do this 100 times over. When people ask me my favorite part of our home I always say the kitchen. It has not always been my favorite. When ... Read More
