I get asked about my painted piano on Instagram all the time. I get it, I remember when I had wanted to paint my Great Grandmas piano I thought it seemed like such a big project and way to overwhelming. I would stare at it wishing it was painted. I thought I would have to move it to our garage or hire a painter to paint it. That is probably why it took me 7 years of owning our piano to finally do it. I found Annie Sloan chalk paint after doing some research, I knew that this would be the best route. No sanding involved or any prep work. I picked Paris Grey and picked it up ... Read More
Back to School Pizza Dinner
The night before school starts we do a back to school dinner. We decided our tradition will be homemade pizza every year. We wanted to create a memory and a setting to show the girls how excited we are for them and how wonderful we think school is. This literally took me an hour to put together. Everything is stuff I already had. Excluding the sunflowers that I text my husband to pull over and cut some on the side of the road (those are free game right?) he didn't respond to my text but the great guy he is he showed up with them! I bought the cupcakes at Whole Foods, easiest ... Read More
Touch of Fall
"Autumn is a second spring where every leaf is a flower, see the good." I put out a little bit of fall in my kitchen. My girls start school on Thursday. We like to do a special dinner for them and talk about how to handle different situations and make homemade pizza. Their Dad also gives them a special blessing at the start of every school year, I had them all of my life, you can read more about that HERE. My girls always appreciate when I decorate for the seasons and Holidays, I thought this would get them excited for school! You can read details about my kitchen and our ... Read More
Favorite Spot for Pillows
I really move my pillows around daily. They are grown up Legos or Barbies to me, my toys. Pillows can change the entire look of a sofa and space, if you are bored with your room move some pillows around from different areas in your home or...better yet buy some new ones! Whenever I would go over to my friends home, that I designed for her I would "fluff" her pillows, and then scold her for not shaking them up to make them look fuller after someone parked their booty on her sofa all night. I told her she had to do it as often as she brushed her teeth. But seriously your pillows will last ... Read More
Healthy Waffle Recipe- Paleo Waffles
This morning I had 4 ripe bananas sitting on the counter. I thought of waffles and Sunday. Growing up my Dad always made waffles from scratch every Sunday morning before church. He never made them from a box or frozen. The waffles he made were the kind where you whip the egg whites until they form peaks, making your waffles so light an airy. It is nostalgic to me. I still love waffles, and came up with the best paleo waffle recipe! It will keep my kids full for hours. I notice a big difference on how many they eat of these compared to a box mix. They eat less of these paleo waffles. ... Read More
Our love for books and cupcakes
I did a book theme shower for one of my cousins. I loved getting books when I had babies and still love books as gifts to my girls. We can never have too many. My sister is an amazing cupcake baker and made all of these cupcakes, keep reading to get her amazing recipe! I bought an old nursery rhythm book at a second hand store and cut out a bunting banner to hang in several spots using mini clothes pins to attach it to the ribbon. I had a hard time cutting up a book, but I am cherishing it another way! I did the same thing with the music note bunting banner, I left this one up from ... Read More
Wallpaper wishes and favorites
We moved into our Cape Cod home in January of 2015. We painted the entire house in Cloud Cover from Benjamin Moore. We remodeled the kitchen and both bathrooms. So wallpapering the hall has not been on the top of the priority list for my husband, but believe me it is something that I think of a little too often. I want to add wallpaper down the hall that you can see from my living room and kitchen. I have this busy Anthropolgie shower curtain that is a floral. I don't want the wallpaper to compete with. The hall used to have chair rail all down it. We popped it off I ... Read More

Banana Blueberry Muffins
We went blueberry picking with some friends. We went to Jones Farm in Connecticut, it was a darling farm. We took this little tractor ride to an area that had some blueberries left, it was one of the last days to pick. The girls loved it and did really well, an hour was about their max. The farmers told us several times to make sure to use the berries or eat them within a day or two. They don't use any pesticides so they go bad faster than the berries we buy at the store. Ella and I made muffins while Lola took a nap. I used my favorite Paleo Banana ... Read More
Connecticut Front Room Tour
Welcome to our Connecticut Home. We are from Utah and love the fact that we can call it a beach house. We painted our front door in Hale Navy from Benjamin Moore. We have pops of navy through out our entire home, I like the front door to set the tone for what to expect in the rest of the home. A little touch of nautical. This is the house BEOFRE we bought it. This is AFTER. We painted the blue paneled walls right when we moved in. We went with Cloud Cover from Benjamin Moore, I loved how it turned out. I just wanted something very neutral, not gray or yellow. We ... Read More
