Our kitchen. It has my heart! It's the room I thought the most about, made the most decisions for. 9 months in the making, sort of similar to the making of our kids...sort of. We remodeled this kitchen into something that worked better for our family and lifestyle. What was my inspiration? The color green! I wanted green somewhere, a nod to the era our home was built, 1970's. I also wanted it to feel very collected, lived in, full of charm. Hopefully we accomplished that! 1970's Kitchen Before- Kitchen Remodel After- We are all so happy with it! We did raise the ceiling about a ... Read More

Our Kitchen Plans
Finally sharing the plans for our kitchen! I started making calls to have cabinets made back in April. Most everyone was out 6-12 months. Busy season. I found one cabinet company that could make them in about 6 weeks, but they didn't offer some of the custom features we wanted. Thankfully I saw my friend sharing on Instagram her new bathroom and laundry room, I immediately called her reference and luckily he could fit us in! First, let me share what our kitchen space looks like today so you can visualize where everything will go! And for fun, let's look back and what the kitchen looked ... Read More
Picking Paint Colors for our 1970’s Remodel
I can't believe we are getting close to painting our 1970's Remodel! They are finishing up the mudding and taping, just in time for floors to be dropped off on Friday! They will start installing the wood floors next week. Then cabinets are after that. I had to get the paint colors picked for the cabinets and obviously walls. We created larger paint samples to help us decide on colors, thought I would share what we picked! I am always saving photos on Pinterest and Instagram of paint I like in rooms. Or, if I am looking for a new color, I will google "best white paint" or search a ... Read More
1970’s Ranch Home Remodel Updates- What it Cost and Dining Room Plans
Things are coming along with the remodel! We are hoping to have it mostly done to move in end of July, crossing our fingers and trying really hard to make it happen! But don't say "I told you so" if it doesn't happen. Ha! It does feel like they are moving pretty fast, we go to the house everyday and there are changes, which leaves us feeling hopeful. The kids are excited, which is making us excited! We have gotten the question "why didn't you just buy a new house" or "why didn't you knock down this house and start over". The number one reason is... we like a lot of the charm of this house, ... Read More
Main Floor (small) Bathroom Remodel
With our recent remodel it spread to most of the rooms in the house, even it was just a little change. Our small hall bathroom was no exception. With the master bathroom addition that is right behind this bathroom, the window in this bathroom had to go. Then we opened up the entrance to our kitchen, the bathroom storage cabinet had to be removed. So why not add a couple inches to our small bathroom?! If you are small home dweller, (like we are) you can appreciate what an extra 12" can do to a space! Pocket doors are a game changer for a small space! We ended up adding three of them ... Read More
Inside our Kitchen Cabinets- Organizing Ideas
We added about 125 square feet to our kitchen. It is now full of glorious storage for plates and dishes and food! However, sometimes when we get more space (whether from moving or de-cluttering or renovating), it can be tempting to start filling that space right back up with things. Anyone else? I have learned so much from living in our small home about staying on top of the "stuff" that we have and keeping things organized and tidy, that I was determined to put our kitchen back together in an organized and efficient way. We didn't add more- just can now put things in cupboards that was spread ... Read More

Our New Banquette Dining Space- Remodel Reveal
I am so excited to start slowly rolling out the finished result of our home renovation! It feels amazing to see our dream become a reality and I am honored that you are here for the ride!! We started the plans for this "small" addition in August last year! Well, in reality, I have been planning this addition in my head since the day we unpacked five years ago! When we started the process last year, I have to admit I thought it would be done in January. Silly me. A lot of things set it back. I am grateful to have yet another reminder that sometimes (oftentimes), the waiting for ... Read More
Friday Favorites- Update on our Remodel and our Magazine!!!
How are you doing? We are staying at an extended stay, a short walk from our home. Our contractor is still working, so we decided to move out so they could come in and work without us being there. Paint, do the trim, refinish our floors (the floors take like 3-4 days) and a bunch of other things! We have actually been out of our house for 9 days and it looks like it will end up being 16 days, hopefully in by next weekend. The place we are staying has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, mini kitchen and table. Not bad. But not Bahamas like where we were supposed to be for Spring ... Read More
Friday Favorites- New Appliances, Kitchen Hardware and new Rug!!!
I thought I would share some favorites from the week, since it has been a big week!!! Hopefully everyone is staying well and cozy at home. Praying for peace and wellness for all of you. It is a hard scary time right now and I know it isn't easy for many. We are taking all the vitamins, making healthy smoothies, washing our hands and using all our Thieves. Trying to do our best to support our wellness. Maybe my post will be a nice distraction from the news. We had workers installing our backsplash today and putting our cabinet hardware on all our cabinets. And remember from my last post I ... Read More
