I have wanted to do a big grouping of lights under our pergola for awhile, but I wasn't sure if they could all be hardwired under the pergola. I finally asked Chad, our friend who is an electrician and he said yes he could do it! He added conduit for the wires, which I was fine with and knew we could paint the conduit black to match the pergola if it was really noticeable and it isn't. With my sisters wedding in our backyard, that gave me the push to get pendant lights ordered and it was so worth it, they looked beautiful at the wedding!!!! This is what it looks like now, a collection of ... Read More
Beadboard Paneling on Walls- Exactly what we use and how
When we shared the triplet guest room makeover a couple weeks ago I received several questions on what we used for the beadboard paneling on all the walls. Sharing today exactly what we used to give our guest room that cozy cottage feeling. From how high we hung the beadboard paneling, the trim we used to finish off the beadboard panels, and pegs we used for guests to hang coats, and bags on. Also sharing how much the beaboard cost. Total cost to do the trim and beadboard was $325, in this 14'x12' room. We did already have the tools, but this is a pretty affordable project that makes a ... Read More
Fall Kale Salad with Sweet Maple Dressing
We made this salad about a week ago, I wanted something that looked pretty for fall. My sister and I were working on it together and we both had to race out the door with our dinner salads to go. Then my sister text me about it and I knew this fall salad was a winner and had to share! I love a salad that not only looks pretty and tastes yummy, but is also good for you! Using kale as the leafy greens packs a good amount of nutrients! The sweet potatoes add a beautiful fall ... Read More
Bold Light Fixtures for the Win- Ella’s New Bedroom Chandelier, New Backyard Patio Chandelier
We added a couple new light fixtures to our home and it made me realize how much I love a bold light fixture. A light fixture that is a piece of art. I would say most the lights we currently have are statement pieces, but the new lights we added take the cake! Sharing our new lights and a round-up of other similar looks. When we were making over my sister and brother in-law's bedroom we needed a light fixture for their room. Ella had mentioned that she loved the new light we put in our basement (see it below) so I knew she wouldn't mind if we took her rattan light for the makeover. She ... Read More
Nephews Nursery with Safari Mural
We gave my nephew, Cooper a nursery makeover and wanted to share it with you! It turned out so cute!! Thank you The Company Store for sponsoring this post Nephew's Nursery Makeover- My starting off point for designing this nursery was the wall mural! Primary Bedroom Cloud Wallpaper, Terracotta Walls (we tried and failed) Printed Sheets
If you saw on my Instagram, we tried terracotta paint on our primary bedroom walls. I had gotten a paint sample, tried a large section on the wall, and even did a design plan to help visualize it. So we decided to go for the bold terracotta paint on the walls. We had painters painting the girls shiplap ceilings, so we asked them to paint our bedroom too. I didn't see the room the entire day while they painted. After it was finished….I didn't love it, but thought maybe I needed to style it. If I was painting it myself I probably would have stopped, and not done the entire room or just done one ... Read More
