Swivel chairs are really the best chairs for a gathering space, large or small. We had a swivel chair in our small cape, it allowed us to get the most out of our small family room, which doubled as a guest room. When I heard Drew Barrymore was releasing a new swivel chair, in a boucle fabric, I had to test it out! I have a couple areas in our home where I thought it could go, the first spot I tried was in our family room. ... Read More

Primary Bedroom Makeover- Iron King Bed and Lattice Trim Wall
We recently did a bedroom makeover for my friend, Laila. We have shared their kids bedrooms and her office, thankful she lets us come in and take over rooms in her home to share ideas with you, and she works right along side me getting it done! Laila and her family moved into this home about a year ago, it was built in the 90's and has a great footprint, but it needed some updating and Laila's personality in it! Their bedroom is now my favorite room in their house, it feels so much bigger, brighter and still manages to feel cozy. Ready to see it? First take a look at my design ... Read More
New Ice Cream Maker and Easy Homemade Ice Cream Vanilla Recipe
We grew up enjoying homemade ice cream all summer. Myself and all my siblings would get excited when we saw my dad bring out the homemade ice cream maker. But, it was a slow torture because it would take all day to make! We had the kind of ice cream maker that you use actual ice and rock salt. Loud and messy. But wow, it tasted so good. I personally love homemade ice cream right out of the ice cream maker, runny like a milkshake, the kind that you could use a straw if you wanted. Today I am sharing our new ice cream maker, and our four ingredient ice cream recipe, that only takes 30 minutes. ... Read More
Repotting Houseplants Tips- Repotting my Ficus Triangularius
Spring is the best time to repot your houseplants! Really you can do it anytime of the year if your plant is outgrowing their current pot. But for best results, wait for growing season, the start of spring. Not only is it good to repot in the next size up, but it is good to refresh the soil. Most ALL my plants stay in the pot they come home in from the nursery, allowing them to get used to their new environment. Besides repotting in the spring, I only repot if I the plant isn't retaining water, or root bound (roots are taking over). Today I am repotting two of my Ficus Triangularius plants. ... Read More

Two Favorite Plant Styling Hacks
I have two favorite plant styling hacks, I think they will be your favorite too! These two plant hacks will save you money and make your plants look really impressive! The first plant hack I did on my Audrey Ficus. I love her so much and she is looking really big and tall lately. I have had her just over two years and did this hack from day one. The second plant hack I did in my Connecticut house too, this plant hack filled a big empty corner and saved me about $100 from having to buy a really large plant. Ready for the plant hacks? 9 Year Old Boys Bedroom Makeover with Loft Bed
Nash is the twin brother to Navy that we recently gave a bedroom makeover to! It was his turn and he was bouncing off the walls excited! The kind of kid you just want to do things for because he is so thankful. He really wanted a loft bed. If he could describe a "dream bed" it would be a loft bed. His bedroom is on the smaller side, about 9'x11' (I enjoy decorating a small bedroom, a design challenge). Nash loves to draw and will spend hours in his room drawing, so another reason for the loft bed, a built-in desk under his bed. Ready to see the makeover?? Thanks to all our helpers that helped ... Lola’s New Bedding- Seasonal Bedding Idea
When we moved into this house I used a mixture of bedding I had collected over the years to make Lola's bed. It turned out really cute, but now some of it isn't looking too great. I had the the duvet cover for 5 years, it was in our Connecticut primary bedroom. While I loved that duvet cover, it was falling apart. And after some research sheets, similar thickness to a duvet cover, are expected to last about two years before you might want to consider replacing them. While a duvet insert will last you 15 years (I have had one about that long and it still looks good!). Her thin Target quilt was ... Read More
