Our basement family room has gotten a lot of use already after only living here for 6 months. We especially love this large space to gather around the holidays and for winter birthdays! This basement space is a really long narrow room, basically a bowling ally! I was concerned with how narrow it was that we wouldn't be able to get a lot of seating in here. I was wrong! With the right furniture placement we pulled it off! We have easily gathered with 20+ people and could squeeze in way more if needed! The biggest things we did in this room was make the windows larger, moved the stairs to ... Read More
Small Patio Set, Spring Front Porch and Planters
Ready to spend a lot of time outside??? We are!! We have already been eating at our outdoor table that is under our covered porch, the sun sets in our backyard, so it gets a lot of sun and warmth. You can't see our pool from that covered patio area, so it felt like we needed a smaller table by the pool we can eat at when when people are swimming, or even to serve snacks on. I found a great small patio set that doesn't need to be covered, and that was really cute! Also started planting some plants for the front porch and pool area. Watering Can (outdoor)Scalloped ... Eat-in Kitchen with Wallpaper Wall and Industrial Island
My sister and her boyfriend just moved into a new place that is great for them! If you remember we helped them with their bedroom not too long ago. I wanted to help them pull their kitchen together for my sisters birthday! They have a great open kitchen that had plenty of room for a large dining table and space to add an island. Also the room had some nice woodwork on one wall that was added by the previous home owner. We felt the space could use some color to match both of their fun personalities and style! My Recent Amazon Purchases
Anyone else wonder how we did things before Amazon? Maybe bought less stuff! I will say it has made decorating our house easier. I LOVE to support local as much as I can, but there are the occasional things that you just can't find local. Like that retro rolling cooler for your backyard or the wall sconce you need to finish off a wall. Or to order more of the tanning lotion you were gifted and love! All of those items and more are in this months round-up of my Amazon recent purchases! Bamboo Plate Holder- when we stayed at my friend, Jessica's house in Kanas City, she had these chargers ... Ella’s Bathroom Open Shelves with Beadboard Wallpaper
Our girls have a Jack and Jill Bathroom. They each have their own vanity and they share the toilet and shower. It has worked out really great for the past 5 months we have lived here. No arguing over needing to get ready for school. In Ella's bathroom she has a little nook that we knew would be the perfect spot for open shelves. We finally got around to installing them and finishing her space. We even hung some beadboard wallpaper that looks like the real thing! Thank you The Home Depot for sponsoring this post I rounded up some favorite things from The Home Depot that are similar to ... Read More
Plant Tip for Rooms with Low Light- Grow Lights!
I love how much plants add to decor. I actually don't have any faux plants in our home, no judgement if you do! That being said, it can be hard to put plants in every room, especially those rooms with no windows or poor lighting. Plants won't grow and slowly die if they don't get light. Don't let that stop you, I have a solution! This is the same plant! It stayed alive under the light of the grow light for about a year, until we moved. Plant Favorites- ... Read More

For the LOVE of Purple- Favorite Purple Things
Well, I have a new obsession with purple. It has always been one of my least favorite colors. But I have found a way to accent with it and wear it that, now, I can't get enough! My friends and I were talking how we think light purple, more of a lavender, really looks good on everyone. It makes your skin glow! For Spring at least, try wearing it, painting your nails purple or accent with it in your home decor. I decided to dedicate a post to the purple things I have bought or thinking of buying! Also, I do think it is interesting to look up what a color means, and says about why you are ... Read More
