The term "refresh" is one that is frequently used in the design world. It is really the perfect way to describe those little changes that breath new life into a space without completely redesigning it or buying all new items. First comes love… I mean sun, then comes a pool, then comes an outdoor shower booth! Isn't that how it goes? 😉 We actually have wanted an outdoor shower for awhile, even without a pool. We live so close to the beach, so having a spot to quickly rinse off sandy feet is a really nice addition! With our remodel it was a perfect time to add one to the side of our home. When we went to see family recently we made sure to schedule in a makeover for my parents. It was a shorter trip than usual, we really wanted to make time to do this makeover for my parents master bedroom. There are no accidents. When we began our home renovations last fall, we discovered an original brick chimney that extended from our kitchen to the upstairs family room. It had to come down to make room for our banquette plans and therefore left a gaping hole in our upstairs family room. You can see the chimney in the photo below, covered in removable brick wallpaper... If you missed it, we decided to add the brick from our old chimney to a wall in our kitchen. If you follow me on instagram, you already saw, but we got a STAIR RUNNER! I just love it so much. When we first moved into our home, I thought we'd be okay with just the hardwood floors. After a couple near death experiences, we knew some skid-proofing would be necessary. Truthfully, I would have added one anyway! The staircase is the first thing you see when you come to our home.
