Open Shelves in our Kitchen
I was SO excited about the idea of floating shelves in our kitchen that I couldn't wait to implement it. But it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be! Is that the case with most DIY projects? Ha! We didn't want to do open shelves instead of cabinets, while I love the look it just really wasn't practical, since our home is still only 1300 square feet (with our addition) we could use any cupboard and drawer we could get our hands on! So we left a small area in our kitchen for open shelves. The dilemma was what to make the shelves out of?! We were trying to decide between wood shelves to match ... Read More
Mothers Day Gift Guide
Mothers Day is really the best day of the year. We get to celebrate our beautiful mothers, our girlfriends, those around us who help mother our children (if we have children), and even ourselves if we are currently or planning to be moms!! Never has there been a better year to celebrate motherhood then this one. I see so many friends, neighbors, teachers and readers wearing themselves out in service during this time of hunkering down and being home. "Being a mom has made me so tired. And so happy.” – Tina Fey “My favorite thing about being a mom is just what a better person it ... Read More

(fake it til you make it!)--But secretly I was thinking…I sure hope it looks good. oh. my. gosh. It looks amazing!!!! I am so happy with how it turned out. I can't even tell you. So how about I just show you. Come on into our new master bedroom!! Thank you The ... Read More
Stay at Home Favorites- Cozy Home and Casual Wear (New Dresser)
My main goal for my home is creating a safe and cozy place where everyone feels loved and comfortable. Has that ever been more important than now when all of us are spending more time at home than ever? I don't think so! Creating a cozy atmosphere is not just soft pillows and pretty art, it's also creating a feeling of comfort and that starts with you and what you are wearing! I have always loved the Danish term "HYGGE" which essentially is the intangible well-being of a space and the contentment of those who live there. To me, a Hygge space is a clean home with soft, glowyy ... Read More
Our New Banquette Dining Space- Remodel Reveal
I am so excited to start slowly rolling out the finished result of our home renovation! It feels amazing to see our dream become a reality and I am honored that you are here for the ride!! We started the plans for this "small" addition in August last year! Well, in reality, I have been planning this addition in my head since the day we unpacked five years ago! When we started the process last year, I have to admit I thought it would be done in January. Silly me. A lot of things set it back. I am grateful to have yet another reminder that sometimes (oftentimes), the waiting for ... Read More

Our New Back Door and Wayfair Sale
We are working on finishing our back deck this week, the weather looks like it just might be spring with temperatures about 60. Looking forward to soaking up some vitamin D. Thought we would start by decorating our back door! I ordered our light for our deck about 6 weeks ago and they were installed last week. Love them! And we got a new back door, it was a must-have with our remodel changes. Although I loved our previous back door, the new door is a big upgrade from our old 1950's door that wasn't very energy efficient. I originally wanted a dutch door, but the one I ordered was back-ordered ... Read More
Our Refinished Oak Floors and Details!
We loved that this 1950's cape had wood floors on the main floor, they were very charming. I didn't really think much about the color of the wood floor because there were bigger things to tackle when we moved in! The bathrooms, kitchen, carpet upstairs, the exterior….a lot needed updating. I was just thankful there was wood! With our addition I thought it would be the perfect time to refinish the oak floors to match the color of the wood we did upstairs, more white-washed. And I do want to mention that I don't think the color of the floors were ugly or wrong. They were just a little too dark ... Read More
